2015AnnualShowRecap—byLorneWillard Amazingly, our 31st Annual Mustang & Ford Show went off without a hitch (meaning rain!). With as much precipitaon

as we’ve had in the area this summer, geWng the show in without rain was a huge accomplishment! We had 185 cars on the

show field from all the surrounding states and we had great mixture of old and newer Mustangs.

Hospitality acvies on Friday night were a tremendous success. The dinner was fantasc (thanks to Sally Dold and eve-

ryone who brought food!) and following that was tech, classificaon & registraon. This helped to relieve some pressure from

the registraon & logiscs com-

miees on Saturday morning and

kept the cars moving into their as-

signed parking spots very smoothly

and safely (thanks to Larry Crist &

Jack Bosic & their Teams!).

On Saturday morning, the

lines were taken care of very smooth-

ly and we filled the front lot very ear-

ly. We were delayed somewhat by a

huge accident on I-35, so we delayed

closing registraon unl some cars we

knew were in the backup arrived. We

started judging as soon as possible

and aLer some judging/scoring issues

were taken care of, we proceeded to

hand out the awards.

All of the club members who

volunteered their me and effort to serve on or to lead a commiee the last 7 months, and also to those that helped out Friday

and Saturday deserve a great big round of applause! From show field setup Friday, hospitality, registraon, tech, classificaon,

judging, logiscs, security, welcome commiee, door prizes/silent aucon, & show field tear-down Saturday aLernoon, it took a

large group of talented and dedicated club members to pull this off. We couldn’t do a show successfully without everyone’s

help…..THANK YOU!

Our show commiee is very experienced in puWng together a great show, and this experience will help us in 2017

when we host the MCA Grand Naonal. We’ll do many of the same acvies we do at our regional shows, but we’ll add a few

more and they’ll all be bigger! We get one more tune up next year, so be prepared to help out and know what is going on so you

can help out in 2017. We’ll need all hands on deck.

Our show charity, Hope

Lodge of Kansas City, is a direct re-

cipient of our successful efforts.

They will be awarded 20% of the

net proceeds from the show. These

funds will be used by Hope Lodge

to house out-of-town family mem-

bers of loved ones who are going

through cancer treatments in Kan-

sas City.

Thanks to Brad McKnight

and Jeff Daniels and the show com-

miee for all of your efforts!

I would like to thank the Show Commiee for their

hard work and dedicaon to ensure that we, as a club, had

a great show. All of you did a fantasc job! Also, none of us

could make this show happen without all the volunteers.

What a great club to have so many people who will give

their me and talent to make our car show a success. We

will report on the final numbers at the next club meeng,

but the preliminary numbers look great. We will be able to

make a nice donaon to Hope Lodge and all of you should

be proud.

Thanks again!

Jeff Daniels

Show Director

ThankYou’s! I want to thank all of the people that commied

their me to judge about 170 cars at our annual show. Yes,

we did have a hiccup or two due to the accident on I-35 that

held us up about an 1 1/2 hour delay, but we got through it

with flying colors. This was a good warm up for our 2017

MCA Grand Naonal. I also want to thank JP Webber and his

son from Lincoln NE, and Melvin Lile and Ed Logan from

Tulsa, OK who helped judge. You all did a great job and again

thank you.

To the ladies that did club sales, thank you very

much. You all just about sold out of everything!
