From the Desk of Compliance...The New Audit Worksheet

IDS, Inc. recently updated the Audit Worksheet to make it more effective for

lenders, investors, and auditors.

The new Audit Worksheet includes information on all of the audits and compliance tests run on a package, allowing investors and auditors to easily identify and review key information. By compiling the information on a given loan file into a single dynamic document, the Audit Worksheet has quickly become an accepted compliance certification in many investor policies.

"We have always done our best to ensure our clients receive compliant, error-free documents," said Vice President Mark Mackey. "This document facilitates that by providing an easy-reference summary of all the audit information on a file."

Along with the information on the tests and checks, the Audit Worksheet provides

data calculated in state, local, and custom fields. As a result, calculations can be double-checked easily, without needing to flip through the entirety of the loan file. This is also useful in locating areas where discrepancies between regulatory interpretations may occur.

Many IDS clients have already utilized the new Audit Worksheet and found it valuable for verifying accuracy in loan files and closing packages.

"Considering human error and often-obscure regulatory language, it is important to be vigilant to catch data discrepancies in the origination process," said Mackey. "The Audit Worksheet is just one more method to allow lenders to catch these discrepancies before packages reach investors and regulators, improving loan quality and helping build a strong reputation with important stakeholders."

State-Specific Documents

Clients of IDS, Inc. can now allow borrowers to fill and sign applicable

state-specific documents within the idsDoc eSign Room.

The IDS Compliance Team has built a collection of over 475 state-specific mortgage documents available to all IDS clients. This collection is always growing and evolving to accommodate the latest regulations in the mortgage industry, and is updated regularly.

"Part of our mission at IDS is to provide the most compliant documents possible," said IDS Compliance Expert Vince Wilson. "As a team we regularly review the documents in our library to ensure they all remain up-to-date, accurate, and effective for our clients and their investors."

In addition, clients can customize the state-specific documents provided.

This allows clients to adapt to differing interpretations of regulatory language and ensure their investors' requirements are met. Clients may also choose to create entirely custom documents as necessary.

These documents are not just available for customization — they are also optimized for use in the eSign Room. From checkboxes to text fields, state-specific documents can now be completed and submitted electronically. Lenders who prefer to complete documents in person also have the ability to scan the signed documents for electronic submission.

"The process of adapting every state-specific document for eSign was time-consuming, but necessary," said Head of Operations David Clement. "The adjusted documents have proven highly effective and we are delighted to offer so many options to our clients nationwide."
