2017 Dance Workshop August 14—18 Macomb Ballet Company sponsors an annual summer dance workshop for ages 8 & up. More information on page 5.
Ballet Boot Camp August 28—30 Ann Parsley School of Dance in Clinton Township hosts this 3 day mini—intensive for ages 8 & up. Designed to bridge the gap between the academic year and summer classes, this camp helps prepare dancers for auditions. The boot camp will focus on body conditioning, ballet technique, pointe work, stage presentation, quality of movement and audition tips. More information on page 6.
Auditions for the 2017/2018 Performance Season Ballet members are chosen annually through open auditions. Dancers with a ballet background, who will be age 8 and up by January 1, 2018, are welcomed to audition August 31st & September 6th, 2017 for the 2017/2018 season.

Many MBC dancers attended Ballet Days, presented by The Cecchetti Council of America National Executive Board with the Eastern Michigan Committee January 28-29, 2017 at Wayne State University .
MBC Senior members Bayley Borowy, Elise Borngesser, Emma Sievert, Claire Barnett, Savanna McFadden, and Carly Sisoy traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada with their home training studio , Ann Parsley School of Dance, where they competed in the Youth American Grand Prix, the world’s largest international student dance competition, open to dance students 8-19 years old.

SUMMER 2017
MBC dancers will be dancing during the off-season, expanding their study, strengthening technique, and progressing dance development. Summer 2017 has the following dancers traveling to these camps: CCA International Summer School 2017 : Claire Barnett, Ava Borngesser, Amelia Catherwood, Charlotte Catherwood,
Nadya DeRosa, Grace Lauchlan, Caroline McCauley, Clare Meteer, Olivia Morelli, Anna Saje, Robbyn Seal, Sabrina Sierens, Carly Sisoy, and Sophie Teolis.

BEYOND THE STAGE
Claire Barnett will graduate Valedictorian from Eisenhower High School this June. In August, she will be competing in Florence, Italy at the Cecchetti International Ballet Competition. Claire plans on attending Butler University this Fall, majoring in Dance Performance &Health Sciences. Claire was awarded both an Academic and Dance Scholarship to The Jordan College of Arts, Butler’s classical ballet program. Claire plans to audition for dance companies following her time at Butler. Her family is so proud of all her hard work and many accomplishments.
Carly Sisoy will graduate from Lutheran High North. In August, she will be competing in Florence, Italy at the Cecchetti Interna-tional Ballet Competition. Carly is the recipient of an Academic & Dance scholarship at Grand Valley State University, where she will double major in Biomedical Sciences & Dance.
Emily Matthews will be attending Western Michigan University in the Dance Program. Emily will be majoring in Occupational Therapy.
