As 4th quarter begins and the end

may help families plan ahead for
this spring and summer.
8th Grade Graduation
Date---Set for Saturday,
May 22nd
Let’s start with Eighth Grade
Graduation. This year for the
first time, Lonedell will hold its
graduation ceremony on Satur-
day, May 22nd at 4pm. As always
we made it a priority to NOT
schedule our graduation ceremo-
nies on the same evening as St.
Clair High School, which is set
for Thursday, May 20, 2010. We
first planned on holding ours,
Friday, May 21st, until we learned
that for the first time (at least to
my knowledge) that St. Clair has
a rain date, which is also May 21st;
meaning that they will not move
their ceremony inside in the event
of rain, but will reschedule it
altogether. I believe this has to
do with the size of their graduat-
ing class and they can’t fit every-
one in the gymnasium, but re-
gardless, it affects us tremen-
dously as we schedule our cere-

Lonedell R-14 School District received “Distinction in Performance” Award-
Forty-five school districts in south-central Missouri who earned the ―Distinction in Perform-
ance‖ award were recently honored by state education officials. The Lonedell R-14 School
District was one of the districts receiving the award for 2008-09. The Distinction in Perform-
ance award is one of the state’s most prestigious honors for local school districts. It is based
on the district’s performance relative to student performance standards that are used to de-
termine state accreditation through the Missouri School Improvement Program. In order to
earn distinction in performance, districts must meet the majority of these performance stan-
dards at either a high or significantly improved level.
Lonedell’s administration is extremely proud of the teachers, staff, and students who have worked so hard to receive this award for the 2008-2009 school year.
