NSN VoLTE solution in IFA 2013, September 6-11, 2013

Berlin, Germany – September,10, 2013

Successfully completes LTE live voice services using

customers own equipment and network in IFA trade

show.

With good co-operation with Vodafone Germany NSN

was able to provide live VoLTE call with customers own

equipment located in Germany.

Hartmut Kremling, CTO Vdf Germany was very

impressed of the outcome: “I had to say ‘wow’ when I saw

the live demo of Voice-over-LTE at our booth, powered by

technology from NSN, where we are the first to show this

as a live service in Germany utilizing Vodafone own

network resources.”

Berlin, Germany – September, 9, 2013

Deutsche Telekom has invited consumers to “feel the

difference” with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) at this year’s

IFA electronics show in Berlin (6-11 September), a

showcase supported by commercial NSN technology.

“Our Voice over LTE solution offers a clear evolutionary

path for providing VoLTE, and this demo is further

evidence of the commercial readiness of NSN, said

Susanne Fettig, DT GCBT head at NSN.”

Building a very fast growing LTE/IMS network is different from CS or fixed networks

• Very heavy signaling load in LTE

• Aggressive and vendor specific UE behavior

• Unusual situation in the network may cause huge signaling storms

NSN innovation in the core solution:

• IMS/HSS base UE priority handling

during high load and signaling storm

• HSS overload protection in the IMS

• HSS intelligent rate control to identify

“mad” peer network elements

• IMS programmability for UE integration

January 8th, 2013

All world largest LTE network subscribers are on the NSN IMS and HSS today

Unique IMS deployment experience with respect to scaling, geo-redundancy

support, overload handling and over 40 different 4G/LTE UE types integrated

• According unique learning’s NSN have already implemented significant number of enhancement to VoLTE core elements

• The key challenges apply all VoLTE deployments
