Hello friends, family and Alumni,

Guess what time it is? It is time to get back in thegym to watch your favorite student-athletes in action! I cannot believe how fast the summer hasgone by and that the season has already begun. The members of the team have worked extremely hard over the summer to improve both physically and mentally to prepare for the season.

We have added three new student-athletes to the roster this fall. Rachel Au-mann comes to us from Wisconsin and will be playing in the middle; Chandler Carney from Indiana, is an outside hitter; and Chelsea Thurlby is a libero from the Chicago area.

Our pre-season tournaments give us a good mix of competition to prepare us for BIG EAST Conference play. We opened the season on the road, as we traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete in the University of Central Florida’s tournament. We played well in our first tournament, beating Florida Atlantic, 3-1, and North Florida, 3-2. During the month of September, we are hosting two home tournaments and look forward to seeing you there!

We continue to improve in the extremely competitive BIG EAST Conference by accumulating more conference wins each year. Finishing last year with the big win over conference champion St. John’s was just what we needed. The momentum from that victory has carried us into the new season; and on Sep-tember 25th, we will kick-off BIG EAST play against St. Johns in Queens, NY at 6 p.m.- what a great way to start conference play!

I want to thank everyone for their continued support and we can’t wait to see you this fall!

Remember it is a great time to be Blue – Go Blue Demons!

Amy
