Sicily called volcano that was originally named after Vulcan the Roman god of fire.

• The highest volcano in the world was the Antofalla volcano in Argentina reaching 6,500 meters above sea level.

• These are some of the famous volcanoes known all around the world Etna in Sicily, Vesuvius in Italy, Krakatoa in Indonesia and Mt St Helens in the USA.

• Vesuvius caused huge damage because when the volcano erupted all the ash buried the town.
