Part 1: The Edsel Colors and Upholsteries Book for 1960 By: Bruce Dean
In this first of a multi-part series we will examine the Color and Upholstery Book for the 1960 Edsel. The book was very
simple in format in that it was merely a small 7 x 9-1/2 inch three-ring binder containing seven 6 x 8-3/4 inch sheets printed
on both sides for a total of fourteen unnumbered pages. The dark green binder was manufactured by the Burkhart Compa-
ny of Detroit, Michigan and is designed as “A 14457” on the inside back cover. Gold text on the cover says “Edsel / Colors
and Upholsteries / logo “E” / 1960”.
Designed to be opened vertically, the pages containing paint chips and upholstery samples and related technical information
were displayed on upper and lower pages. This left the front side of first sheet and the back side of the last sheet as “stand-
along” pages. The first page is titled “How to use your 1960 Edsel Color and Upholstery Book”. It explains that the book
is divided into tabbed sections. Those sections are: Exterior solid and two-tone color codes; Exterior body color chips; Inte-
rior upholstery samples; and Quick facts on the 1960 Edsel.

Reservoir Master Cylinder Conversion Looking for a dual reservoir master cylinder with
power booster for brakes drums/drums. Who did
install such part on his 1958 Edsel (I have a Cita-tion)? Which type is most easy to install? Who
knows, where to buy? I have already two separated
brake lines front/rear with dual reservoir mas-ter with booster, but from a Volvo. It works bad,
because of it is made for disk/drum brakes not for
