I am very excited about 2006. Last year was a rock-solid year for Bobbitt – the second best in 60 years. We can all feel extremely proud of this achievement. The economic picture is bright both nationally and in our region. Both Raleigh and Columbia continue to be identifi ed as cities that are expected to enjoy superior growth.
Bobbitt is well-positioned to utilize our strengths: a strong satisfi ed customer base of thousands, a knowl-edgeable professional team of employee-owners, and a clear focus on Design-Build. We will continue to serve and support our customers one-by-one, further building upon our company’s rich history.
In recent months, we have paid close attention to truly capturing the essence of the Bobbitt brand, examining the ways in which we articulate our image and the messages we communicate. Each issue will feature thoughts on topics pertaining to corporate positioning – enabling all of us to communicate more effi ciently, both internally and externally.
In this issue, the topic at hand is our corporate Brand Values. These principles guide how we conduct business and cultivate relationships to assure our customers’ needs are met:
Tradition Embodies the way we as employees are caretakers of the reputation. We have a keen un-derstanding of the value of customer service as well as pride in our overall impact to the community. Often referred to as having Bobbitt in our blood.
Service Employees maintain a genuine interest in local communities and exemplify the timeless quali-ties of honesty and integrity in working with customers. Our mindset is to think about the future with concern for the best interests of our customers as well as our organization.
Value We take pride in solving our customers’ most diffi cult challenges as if each project is our own. For some, building can be a nightmare. Our employees know the way, maintaining a long-range view of every project to get the job done right.
Guidance We take the time to educate customers – creating order out of chaos with our experience, confi dence and ability to maximize available resources that assure the best solutions. Internally, this commitment carries through with teamwork that is unmatched in the industry and pride in the indi-vidual and collective achievements within our company.
Subsequent issues will feature topics such as the corporate Vision and our long-range goals to:• Increase employee stock value through consistent company growth, continuing to expand our
presence and thereby ranking among the top contractors in the region.
• Positively impact our communities in ways outside of business relationships.
• Measure our company among the world’s fi nest design-build organizations.
• Maintain an active public presence to educate on the value of design-build.
I’m proud to begin the fi rst quarter of our 60th Anniversary year on such strong footing – let’s make this the best year yet.
MARKETING MATTERSYou’ve no doubt noticed the new Bobbitt Design Build logo on these pages. We’re very excited to intro-
duce this creative design and the positive image it represents for our organization moving forward.
Upon fi rst glance, you may not see a signifi cant dif-ference from the previous design. Examine it a little further, and you’ll notice this new brand identity symbolizes the forward momentum our organiza-tion is experiencing. We also feel it demonstrates a more modern approach and accurately represents the progressiveness within our talented team.
What else is happening in marketing you ask? Well, this newsletter is an example. This is just one way we’ll keep employees current on com-pany happenings. Each month, President and CEO Don Comer will highlight key aspects of our overall performance. Also note that these
pages feature unique and newly completed projects from across each of our offi ces, as well as updates on Bobbitt community support and other activity.
Compliments abound for the new Bobbitt web site with its unique design that befi ts our status as the Carolinas’ largest and most expe-
rienced contractor specializing in design-build. Have a look and tell us what you think. Note the vast num-ber of recently completed projects featured through-out that demonstrate the breadth of our talents.
In cooperation with NAI Carolantic Realty, Bobbitt recently sponsored the 21st Annual Triangle Com-mercial Real Estate Conference, held at the RBC Center in Raleigh. Featuring our newly designed signage, we made a signifi cant impression on the thousands in attendance.
Needless to say, we are making our presence felt in the community with all kinds of marketing activity. In the coming months, we will roll out a new advertis-ing campaign and be featured in area publications.
So stay tuned, in future issues this space will be used to show you what’s on display across the region.

This year Bobbitt celebrates our 70th year in business. This
marks a significant milestone for our company.
Obviously we would not be here today without our founder,
G. E. Bobbitt, who started the company soon after the
conclusion of World War II. Our real debt of gratitude goes
to the men and women who built the foundation for our company. Their good work
satisfying customers year after year enabled us to be in the great position we find
ourselves today.
In the half century since Mr. Bobbitt was in the office there have been too many
people to recognize here. I encourage you to read, or re-read, George Rembert’s
great Bobbitt – The First Sixty Years to see some of the names.
Without Glenn Adam’s leadership, it is doubtful that Bobbitt would exist today.
He has served our company for 48 years. While Mr. Bobbitt forged the original
partnership with Butler Manufacturing Company, Glenn led every major evolution
for the past 48 years – sales teams in the ’70s, the initial ESOP in the ’80s,
architects and engineers for true design build in the ’90s, and Columbia in the new
century. These were all developed and implemented successfully by Glenn. Today
he continues to serve us as the chairman of our Board of Directors.
In addition to leadership, Glenn had a tremendous talent for recruiting and
motivating smart, hard-working folks. This is another pillar of our successful
history. Look at your fellow employee owners, and not just their professional
talents. Think about what good people with who we are all able to work each day.
As we celebrate 70 years, I want to thank all of our employees – both past and
present – for your contributions to Bobbitt and our collective success.

Bobbitt Design Build recently began construction on the future 14,897-square-foot corporate
headquarters for John Harris Body Shop at 111 Evergreen Drive in Irmo, which sits prominently
on a 2.30 acre lot off Interstate 26 at Lake Murray Blvd.
Veteran- and family-owned since 1975, John Harris Body Shop will utilize the facility to centrally
run operations for its seven current locations. The two-story structure will feature approximately
2,032 square feet of office space on each floor. To create public appeal, several different wall
systems, panel profiles, overhangs, canopies and storefronts will be incorporated into the project.
Construction is expected to be complete in July 2016. John Harris Body Shops have been serving
the Midlands’ auto body repair needs for over 40 years.

In December, Bobbitt hosted the
annual Christmas parties in North
and South Carolina for employees
and their loved ones. The Raleigh
office celebrated at 18 Seaboard,
the Columbia crew at Travinia
Italian Kitchen.
In November,
Jim Bell,

participated
in the SPCA of Wake County’s 5K
Santa Paws Run in Raleigh. Jim’s
daughter, Caitlyn, won the overall
women’s race, and Jim’s wife,
Stacey, finished first in her age
group.

Bobbitt Design Build partnered again this year with NAI
Carolantic to sponsor the 31st Annual Triangle Commercial
Real Estate Conference. The conference, themed “A Modern
Renaissance,” was held on Jan. 22 at the PNC Arena in
Raleigh.
Jimmy Barnes, President of NAI Carolantic, delivered a
recap of commercial real estate market activity in 2015 and
offered guarded but generally positive predictions for the
coming year. Sarah Quinlan, Senior Vice President of Market Insights for MasterCard Advisors,
delivered a keynote address stating that consumer spending, not the stock market, accurately
reflects the health of the U.S. economy, and spending is strong and trending upward.
The conference was a gathering of more than 1,800 Triangle business and community leaders,
including Governor Pat McCrory, and is the largest real estate event of its kind in the region. The
conference is produced each year by NAI Carolantic, and Bobbitt was one of seven companies
that sponsored the 2016 event.
