In the month of Ashadh(Hindu Calendar),
Guru Poornima is celebrated all over India by
expressing regards & respect towards Guru in
different ways. This day has special
significance in Indian culture.
This year, we at Bharatiya Sanskriti
Darshan Trust celebrated this day on 7th July
2009 in the remembrance of our teacher ,
preacher, Revered Guru Sardeshmukh
Maharaj . Prayers were offered to the pious
soul. Prasad was prepared & distributed to all.
This day was also celebrated at Bharatiya Sankriti Darshan Trust's Ayurved college, Wagholi. Dr. Natu
Head of Swasthavrutta Department. graced this function as chairman & Dr. A.V. Bakre presided as the chief
guest.
On this occasion, Dr. A. V. Bakre a well-known Ayurved practitioner, inaugurated Audio CD 'Charak
Siddhant Vivechan' (Collection of lectures delivered by Prof. Anant Dharmadhikari - Head of the Kayachikitsa
Department, Ayurved college in Charak Nirupan seminar held in January 2008) .
The commencement of the program was done by Dhanvantari poojan and chanting prayers by Vaidya
Bhagyashree Puranik, M.D. (Scholar) followed by lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries on the dais. Dr.
Renuka Gayal (Reader of Kayachikitsa Dept.) delivered the inaugural speech. Dr. Bakre shared his thoughts
and experiences regarding his Gurus .As a token of honor and respect, Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh and Dr.
Dharmadhikari were felicitated by the college staff and students. Teacher representative Dr. Jyoti Badve
(Head of the Rasashastra Dept.), explained the importance of this day. Student representative Piyusha
Khamkar (IInd year BAMS student) expressed her feelings for her Guru.
Dr. Dharmadhikari delivered a lecture on ‘Vata Sankalpana and Anonya Avaran Vichar’. Dr. Abhijeet
Saraf, M. D. (Scholar) Samhita Dept. assisted him for Sutra vachan (Recitation of sutras).
Dr. Natu expressed his ideas regarding Guru Poornima. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by
Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh.
The program was conducted by the post graduate students of the Ayurved College, Wagholi. All the
students, Research staff, Teaching staff and Interns attended this program.

Padavika courses of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth are being conducted by Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan

month.

Mardan Tantradnya Padavika” of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth will start from September 2009.
These courses impart basic knowledge of Ayurved, Yoga Shastra & Abhyanga – Mardan (Massage
Therapy). These certificate courses are informative & are not entitled for medical practice.

Congratulations – Squint Camp recorded in Limca Book

A 100th free Squint check-up camp was successfully organized on 18/4/2009 by Bharatiya
Sanskriti Darshan Trust and Netraseva Pratishthan in joint venture with Sarvamangal Madhuram Trust
conducted by honorable Mahendrabhai Dalichand Doshi and Parshwadasham Parivar.
The camp held under the guidance of Dr. U. V. Tekavade, Vice-Principal and Dr. Prabhu Jathar,
Head of the Department Shalakya Tantra (Department of E. N. T. & Ophthalmology) of Ayurved
College, Wagholi had a good response from the squint patients. Those patients indicated for surgical
procedures were operated at Sane Guruji Hospital, Malawadi, Hadapsar, Pune on 29/05/2009 and
30/05/2009.Total 156 operative procedures were conducted of which 132 were performed in one
single day, this markedly was responsible to make an entry in the Limca Book of Records.
A huge contribution was given by Dr. Prabhu Jathar for the success of this camp and his efforts
were appreciable. A special thanks to Dr. Madhusudan Zanwar, an eminent Ophthalmologist, for his
valuable guidance and contribution to make this camp a ‘record’.

Appeal for DonationAyurved Hospital & Research Centre of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust is conducting various
Research Projects like Cancer, AIDS, Delayed bone healing with the inspiration of Revered P. K.
Sardeshmukh Maharaj. Cancer Research Project was started since 1994 at Wagholi (Pune), Mumbai &
Solapur under the able guidance of Prof. Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh. Respected Dr. Arvind Kulkarni,
Director, Radiation Oncology Department, Lady Ratan Tata Hospital & Dr. Shirish Kumthekar, a well
known onco – surgeon are co – ordinating the project. Dr. B.G. Sahasrabudhe, Research consultant and
Dr. Deepak Ladda, Pathologist are also guiding the project. Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh, In - charge, Cancer
Research Project & a team of Doctors in Wagholi (Pune), Mumbai & Solapur are working in the project.
More than 4000 cancer patients are treated in the project till date.
Various free Cancer consultation camps, Cancer & Ayurved Exhibitions & Cancer awareness
lectures are regularly organized by the Trust. 3 International Conferences on “Ayurved for Cancer” were
also organized by the Trust after every five years.
We never claim that we cure Cancer, but our Ayurvedic line of treatment is found to be effective in
improving immunity & quality of life of Cancer patients. It is also observed that patients who are
undergoing Ayurvedic treatment along with Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy could tolerate these
treatment with minimal side effects.

Our Research centre has received Grant – in – Aid for
Cobalt Radiotherapy Machine from Department of Atomic
Energy, Government of India for the benefit of Cancer
patients in rural area. A separate building has to be
constructed urgently for this purpose which will cost
approximately 2 crore.
We expect your valuable donation & guidance for this
project as earlier. We also request you to approach your
acquaintances & colleagues or known organizations
regarding this matter. Your kind help will be beneficial for construction of this Rural Integrated Cancer
Centre. We wish to treat cancer patients in this centre with integration of Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy,
Surgery & Ayurvedic treatment with the help of experts in respective field in minimal charges.
