At midnight beneath the full moonI think of August and all that bloomsfor us on the Battery’s pathat dawn when the first walkers start to pass. For more than birds, the river sings, and a tall-ship’s sails are like wingsthat arrive from history’s nestwhen the Kalmar Nyckel comes in to rest.Yes, my childhood was written hereand my same neighbors are still nearon bumpy sidewalks that seem to danceif you know them well and have the chanceto grow up as I have—lucky at birth—there is no finer place on earth.

Mustache is a quiet but sweet two year old who’s hoping for a home that can see everything he has to give. He can be a bit shy around new people, but he warms up to be
such a loving little guy and a total purr machine. Mustache does very well with the other kitties in our free-roaming room, he’s friendly with children, and he wouldn’t mind living with a laid-back dog.
Mustache can be adopted at a fee you name through Sunday, August 19th.

DELAWARE TRANSFER TAX NEWS!! It is expected that Gov. Carney will sign a new law granting
first time homebuyers a 1/2% discount on the DE State transfer taxes of home sale prices (on home sales up to
$400,000). This is pending legislation of HUGE SAVINGS, giving first time homebuyers savings up to $2,000 in State
transfer taxes. If all moves forward and on schedule as expected on 8/28, the discount will be effective
immediately and retroactive to August 2017. The new law does limit the existing County first time exemptions to the
first $400,000 of purchase price unless the Counties increase this amount by appropriate County legislation.
