APRIL 2014

It is an honor for me to have been elected as

your Exalted Ruler for this coming year. Many

thanks to those who were instrumental in the

election process which allows me to serve this

wonderful organization. My goal is to provide

the leadership which will carry forward the past

successes and try to make them even greater.

However, I am well aware that the success de-

pends totally on strong member leadership and

volunteer support for committee and event

functions which has always been given unselfishly in

the past.

With the assistance of several members we have put

together strong chairpersons for the committees re-

quired. As I don't believe in micro managing, each

will organize and operate their programs independent-

ly, keeping in mind efficiency and costs. Volunteers

will be needed and we encourage everyone to get in-

volved to help make each program a success. ..All of

those participating will be recognized individually for

their efforts. This is always important to the Lodge

and to the morale of the members. Anyone interested

in serving on a Committee may contact me or the-

Chairperson of their choice.

The Lodge building is in need of repair. Renovation

and clean-up of the Lodge floor, kitchen, and rest

rooms is being reviewed. Initial equipment installa-

tion in the kitchen is scheduled to begin in April.

Let's go into this next year with an attitude of doing

great charitable works and accomplishing our goals,

but just as importantly, treating our fellow Elks as

Brother and Sister.

Secretary’s Corner…

As you know, all dues notices were mailed out February 1st and due April 1st. Thank you to all

our Members that earned the “Early Bird” sticker. Paying early makes this collection process

much easier. Collecting dues from approximately 600 members is a monumental task, as I have

learned. If you have yet to pay, you are now in late status but can still pay. Please understand, if

a Member is not in Good Standing, he/she may not enter the Lodge and may not be signed in as a guest. I am

required to publish a delinquent list, not to embarrass anyone but to, hopefully, serve as a reminder to those not

paid and for all Members to bring to the attention of friends and family named on the list. Let’s all work to-

gether to get these dues paid and not lose our valued Members!

I must personally thank some “Good Elks” for stepping up and assisting me with the dues collection process:

Bob Bergh, John Bell, Betty Mahone, Gwenda Hall, Dee Huber, and Jan Abbott. Also thank you to the Bar-

and effort in this wonderful event which will, hopefully, bring a lot of enjoyment for the boys

Words from the Membership Committee………………………

Fellow Elks, its great to be back!! My year away was restful, enjoyable, but truthfully I missed being

involved with new proposed Elk members. I am pleased to announce Danita Hall as a first time mem-

ber of the Committee. Her knowledge and enthusiasm will be a welcome and appreciated addition to

the Committee.

Please remember…...When proposing a new member for consideration, take the time to assist in pre-

paring the application and make sure all necessary information is completed before forwarding it to the

secretary (Phyllis Mann). This will be a great help in processing the application in a timely manner.

In the near future, you will be notified of various contests, ( Prizes, Elks Bucks, etc.), for members

proposing the most newly accepted members.

The Committee welcomes and needs your suggestions.
