As we approach the final months of 2017 we look forward to taking the NEXUS brand to new heights, while reflecting on our achievements of the last months.

The NEXUS growth story is a story that is now well-known because it is based on innovation created by special and talented people who have devoted their time and efforts since the beginning to help NEXUS become a Group of Companies with many subsidiaries and joint ventures around the globe. When reciting this impressive story, we must recognize our significant contributors to our success who made NEXUS into this wonderful and amazing organization. Mr. Ahmad Al-Sayed is one of those distinguished contributors, who fully participated to build the NEXUS success story. I am happy to announce and congratulate Mr. Ahmad Al-Sayed for his new role as NEXUS Chief Executive Officer.

Over the last few months we have expanded on our commitment of connecting aspiring aviation enthusiasts with their true potential through the official launch of the NEXUS Academy. The NEXUS Academy delivers a premium training experience to its students. Instructors are engaging and accessible and ensure that each student receives personal attention in achieving their training objectives. Our goal is to help our students truly learn the subject matter and prepare them to become leaders in the aviation industry. We strive for the highest pass rate for our students and pride ourselves on placing our students into the best aviation positions available.

Today the NEXUS Academy has been established in Rwanda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The courses we offer range from dispatcher training to flight planning, from resource management to regulation and from pilot training to English language courses. In China we are currently expanding upon the academy’s presence and also look to inaugurate academies in India, the Philippines and the United States of America.

From November 12-16, NEXUS will be a premier exhibitor at the Dubai Airshow. The Middle East is one of the fastest growing aerospace regions in the world and as a regional leader in Flight Operations Services we consider our presence as an opportunity for us to engage potential customers, suppliers and partners.

Our commitment to innovation is at an all time high as we prepare to roll out new aviation proprietary tools that will help change the way flight operations are managed across the world.

We move forward with confidence and with a second to none commitment to delivering state-of-the-art flight operation services solution across the globe. Onwards and upwards!

Where did you grow up and how did you wind up in New Jersey? As a young child, I lived in North Dakota and started elementary school there. When I was 7, my family moved to the Chicago area where I lived through high school. I moved to Minneapolis-St. Paul (Minnesota) for college for 4 years and studied Classics. After college, I moved to New Jersey with a friend. I’ve been in New Jersey ever since.

How did you become interested in aviation and learning to fly?My first job in New Jersey took me past an airport on my way to and from work. I used to pull over to the side of the road to watch the planes take off and land. I spent all my spare money taking flying lessons and got hooked, so I went back to school full-time to study aviation.

Did you know many women following the same career path at the time?In flight school, only about 4% of the students were female, but I am happy to report that the percentage of women in aviation has been rising every year.

What other positions have you held in aviation?I flight instructed to build hours and moved to flying charters. I wound up working in the college flight program where I’d learned to fly. I did classroom teaching, give flight check-rides to students and eventually ran the school’s FBO and dispatch office. By then I was married with 2 kids and wanted the stability of a 9-5 job since my husband is also a pilot. The college program allowed me to fly every day and still be home to meet the school bus. When my kids were finishing high school, I was ready for a change and joined WYVERN.

What are you responsible for at Wyvern?I have been part of the WYVERN family for nine years and currently I am the Director of Customer Support.

What is the best part of your job?I have to say the people I work with. I love the variety of things I do; I write, talk to people, help them, do research, clean data and work on projects. Just like flying, every day is different.

What do you like to do outside of work?I love to read and knit for relaxation. I go for long hikes on the weekends with my husband. I think we’ve been to every state park in New Jersey and many of them in eastern Pennsylvania. I also love to bake cookies.

NEXUS signed an MOU with XYBASE, a global leader in Airport Operations Management Systems, to jointly pur-sue opportunities of mutual interest for both organizations.

April 4, 2017 – Jeddah, KSA – NEXUS an-nounced today that it has signed an MOU with XYBASE, an innovative and flexible global provider of comprehensive airport operations management systems.

7

“We had an immediate affinity for XYBASE, as they are aggressive and entrepreneurial like us and share a global vision for the growth of their business.” said Abdullah Al-Sayed, Founder & Chairman of NEXUS. “We started talking to XYBASE’s owners, and discovered that our two businesses were highly complementary with little overlap. They help airports with sophisticated software, technology and service solutions just as we do the same for operators. We realized we could help each other as we expand globally.”

The MOU calls for the companies to work toward a Joint Venture agreement whereby XYBASE will help NEXUS grow its business in the ASEAN countries and China, and, in turn, NEXUS will help XYBASE grow its business in the Middle East, India and Africa. Already the two companies are working together to provide a custom airport management solution to one of NEXUS’ key clients.

“We are very excited to enter into this partnership with NEXUS,” said Suhaimee Abu Hassan, President of XYBASE, which is based in Malaysia, “and we are already seeing opportunities to work together for mutual reward. NEXUS brings a unique skillset in aviation operations management that links nicely with our airport management solutions.”

The companies have agreed to move quickly into Joint Venture discussions and begin realizing the potential of this natural partnership.

Aircraft Options for Business Travelers

As a premier Global Flight Operations Services provider, NEXUS is always on standby to provide you with a full suite of services to make your private jet trip tailored, and hassle-free. If you are considering purchasing or chartering a private jet consider these points about the different aircraft types, because your next business trip may take you to areas not particularly well served by the airlines.

That means you will either need to make a couple of connections to arrive at your final destination or endure a long car ride from the airport to your ultimate terminus. Instead, you could just as easily purchase a private jet or charter one and avoid the hassles. When considering your options, the following types of aircraft are available.

8

Aircraft Size MATTERS

Small Jet or propeller? If your team is small, ranging from four to eight individuals, you can secure a short range aircraft provided that your trip is within 1,500 miles of your home base. Select turboprops can take you a bit further without refueling, making it possible for you to get to and from your location within mere hours.

KingAir, Hawker Beechcraft, Cessna, Piaggio, Pilatus and Piper are among the turbo prop jets you might consider. Small jets include Learjets, Citation and Beechjet. Choose the aircraft that satisfies your needs and fits your budget.

Medium If you need more interior room, a basic galley and a nautical range of up to 3,000 miles, then a medium-sized or midsize business jet might be right for you.

Hawker, Citation and Learjet have you covered here, as does the Gulfstream G100, the smallest business jet from this iconic aircraft manufacturer. Such aircraft carry up to eight passengers and may prove to be the most cost-effective way for your team of three to five individuals to fly.

Super Midsize When you expect a certain level of service, then super midsize aircraft and large jets are the only ones that deliver. Most super midsize jets come equipped with a large galley and offer room for up to 10 passengers.

Represented here are Gulfstream, Challenger, Falcon and Citation, jets that provide a range from about 3,200 to 3,800 nautical miles. That’s enough to take you clear across the country and then some with stops along the way to pick up more people, if needed.

Large The largest aircraft seat from seven to 10 passengers with a few models configured to seat 12 to 16 people with ease. You will typically get a full galley, enjoy the services of a corporate flight attendant and find a flying range from 3,700 to well over 7,000 miles. Fly nonstop from New York to Honolulu, saving your team a change of aircraft and preserving much time in the process.

These jets include models produced by each of the major aircraft manufacturers including Bombardier, Gulfstream, Falcon and Embraer, aircraft that can cross oceans, span continents and deliver you to your destination faster than any airliner can.

Helicopters Perhaps your trip is a short one or you simply need the convenience of landing at a downtown location that no turboprop or jet can match. A helicopter is a highly convenient business aircraft, able to land at heliports in downtown Manhattan or at other very convenient locations.

A Sikorsky helicopter seats up to six passengers and can provide a surprising range when you need it. Take off from a lower Manhattan heliport and land at the Washington Heliport, just three miles from the White House.

Aircraft Considerations

Your options are certainly many when considering a business aviation aircraft for purchase or hire. Clearly, the number of people in your party, the distance you plan to fly, the level of comfort required and your budget are among the top considerations as you plan your trip.

Once you have your aircraft, then let NEXUS satisfy your aircraft needs and the services required, including transportation to and from the airport, your hotel stays, aircraft catering, crews, and a host of other flight operations & concierge services.
