  • *Voice mail gives you the functions of an answering machine without the necessity for having any equipment on your desk. It has the added advantages of better sound quality than with most answering machines, and the system gives your callers the opportunity to ring another extension if they do not wish to leave a message.

    Voice Mail - Introduction

  • *To enroll on CiscoUnityStep 1 - Dial the appropriate number to call CiscoUnity: If you are calling CiscoUnity from inside the organization, dial the internal phone number: 6000, orpress message button from you Cisco IP Phone If you are calling CiscoUnity from outside the organization, dial the external phone number 021.304.1158.Step 2 - If you dialed the external phone number, press * when CiscoUnity answers.Step 3 - Enter your ID (usually your phone extension), then press #.Step 4 - If required, enter your CiscoUnity password (default Password is 2580), then press #.Step 5 - You will be asked to: Record your name. Set a new password.Enrolling in Unity

  • *Checking Voice Messages By PhoneTo check messagesStep 1 - Log on to CiscoUnity.Step 2 - Press 1 to hear new messages.OrPress 3 to hear old messages. Then, press 1 to hear saved messages.

  • *Deleting Messages By PhoneTo delete a messageStep 1 - Log on to CiscoUnity.Step 2 - Press 1 to hear new messages, or press 3 to review old messages.Step 3 - During or after message playback, press 3 to delete the message.

  • *Sending a Voice Message with you PhoneUse the following procedure to send a voice message.Step 1 - Log on to CiscoUnityStep 2 - Press 2.Step 3 - Follow the CiscoUnity conversation to address your message. To address the message to a private list, press ## to switch to number entry as necessary.Step 4 - Press 1 to add another name or list. Step 5 - Press # to send the message

  • *Replying to a Message by PhoneTo reply to a messageStep 1 - After listening to the message, press 4.Step 2 - Record the message Step 3 - Press # to send the message.Step 4 - Follow the CiscoUnity conversation to handle the original message.

  • *Forwarding a Message By PhoneTo forward a messageStep 1 - After listening to the message, press 5.Step 2 - Follow the CiscoUnity conversation to address the forwarded message. To address the message to a private list, press ## to switch to number entry as necessary.Step 3 - Do one of the following three options: Press 2 to record an introduction Press 3 for message options Press # to forward the message as is.

    Is an application (plugin) that incorporates voicemail into your Microsoft Outlook Client. This is possible due to our Cisco CallManager IP PBX and Cisco Unity Messaging system.

  • *Checking Voice Messages through OutlookFROM field indicates Unity Messaging System

    In Outlook, Horn icon indicates voicemail messagePaper clip icon indicates an attachment(voicemail is a .wav attachment)SUBJECT field indicates Message from followed by either the persons phone number, name or unidentified caller if callerDouble click on message to open in a separate windows (see next page)

  • *Checking Voice Messages through Outlook (continued)At this point you may listen your voice message as follow:Click the play buttonYour phone will ring outPick up the receiver and listen the messageHang up

    You can also can listen the message by double-clicking on the .wav file attachment to play the voicemail messageYou may also forward the message

  • *Sending Voice Messages through OutlookYou may send voice messages through Outlook via Cisco IP Phone:Type the subject of this Voice MessageType the name of a person which you what to send the voice message or use Active Directory to find itClick New Voice Message iconUntitled ViewMail for Outlook window will openPress the Record button to record your message (see next page)

  • *Sending Voice Messages through Outlook (continued)You may send voice messages through Outlook via Cisco IP Phone:Press the Record button to record your messageAfter pressing the Record button the phone will ring outPick up the receiver and start speakingYou may stop the recording by clicking the stop buttonAlso you can hear your message by clicking play buttonIf you agree with the message you can click send button to send the message
