Voice of God

INTRODUCTIONThere is no voice more powerful than the voice of God

His voice is very holy....it is both loud and soft

God’s voice can be heard throughout the heavens & throughout the earth

We discuss the voice of God during the Day of Trumpets because this day points to the time in which God’s voice will call his saints & gather them together

When God SpeaksGod’s voice is not like ours. When he

speaks, the animals and trees obey, a law is created, new life begins or a soul is

destroyed.

And God Said....With this very voice the heaven and

earth were created. “And God said, let there be light......” (Genesis 1: 3)

And God Said....The same voice that created also destroyed . “And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me

that I have made them.” (Genesis 6: 7)

And God Said....The same voice that destroyed also healed.

“And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was

bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her

to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.”

(Luke 13: 11-12)

And God Said....The same voice that healed also brought the dead back to life. “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus,

come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his

face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”

(St. John 11: 43-44)

God’s Voice Has No Limits

There is no limit to God’s voice

His voice can be gentle and soft as a whisper as well as loud & frightening

The symbols that represent God’s voice are often very loud and command attention

Water(Ezekiel 43: 2)

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his

voice was like a noise of many waters....”

Thunder (Revelations 14: 2)

“And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice

of a great thunder....”

Symbols of God’s Voice

(Revelations 1: 10-11) I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a

trumpet.....
