Business model under pressure

People and organisations are increasingly becoming dependent on our infrastructure and that of our competitors to be able to operate. Investing in the

quality, stability and security of our network is therefore crucial. Our business model is at the same time under pressure through legislation and increasing

competition from cable operators and ‘Over the Top’ players such as Google and Facebook. In the chapter on Financial Performance you can read more

about how we are handling this.

Organisation development

April 2014 Collaboration with Sizz completed

In April we completed collaboration with RTL Ventures for the Sizz brand as Vodafone took over

the share of RTL in the Sizz subscription base. With the ‘How to’ videos and exclusive RTL

programmes we wanted to make a specific audience more familiar with smartphones. That goal

was achieved.

Collaboration with Entone and Divitel

We also started collaboration with Entone Inc. and Divitel in April. Entone is a global leader in Cloud

TV and Connected Home solutions. Divitel is a systems integration partner for fibre optic TV.

Through this collaboration we can provide a broad range of advanced television services with

‘Vodafone Thuis’ [Vodafone at Home], such as Pause Live TV (PLTV) and an extensive library of

video-on-demand (VOD).

June 2014 Insourcing HR Administration

In 2011 Vodafone outsourced HR administration and related activities to Raet. In doing this we

wanted to offer more staff development opportunities and broaden their knowledge. This objective

was not achieved, however. In June we therefore started insourcing the people and operations

again.

July 2014 Acquisition of Nexct

On 10 July 2014 we acquired the IT services provider Nexct, which allows us to further expand our

integrated service portfolio. Nexct is the market leader in the business market for deploying unified

communications solutions based on Microsoft Lync.

Feb 2015 Offshoring of HR administration activities to Hungary

In February we transferred a number of HR administration activities to the Shared Services Centre

in Hungary, as a result of which 3 jobs became redundant in the Netherlands. The purpose of this

offshoring is to provide consistency, quality of service, simplification and standardisation of HR

changes and to save costs.

March 2015 Support during IT system integration

From December 2014 to March 2015 Amdocs took over our automation activities and manual

back-office work (28 FTE). This allowed us to focus on the integration of our IT systems. Xerox

provided additional front-office support during this period.

Expansion of Corporate Specialists

In March we expanded our number Corporate Specialists, with the purpose to enhance market

share in the small business market (SOHO) with our unified communications portfolio. We also

want to increase customer satisfaction.
