Our Program: Vocational Awards

Drew Gidlof

One of our most important and satisfying programs of

the year took place on May 4, thanks to the efforts and

organizational skills of Past President and Past Assistant

District Governor Drew Gidlof, serving as this year’s

Vocational Services Chair.

As is our annual custom, the Club awarded commenda-

tions to local educators and public safety officials whose standards of excellence

merit the title of “Community Patron Saints”. Many honorees had family in

attendance, making for an even more-full-than-usual room. All honorees and

their guests were guests of the Club (one reason why we strive to keep our

Club’s operating coffers full). Members enjoyed meeting firsthand the people

Jim Cahill, sitting in the audience for

once, pulled the 8 of Diamonds, proving

his administration is (mostly) transpar-

ent, as he did not win the door prize.

Instead, he gets a free lunch on the

Club and the door the prize amount re-

mains at $250.

Visiting Rotarian JR Springer (above)

from the South Sacramento Club, who is

also our Asst. Dist. Governor, helped out

with the awards. Thanks, JR!

Jordon Freitas (below) of the Escalon Ro-

tary Club, exchanged banners with us.
