Proposal
This year the Instructional Leadership Team has decided to focus on vocabulary development for student growth and success. There is a direct relationship between vocabulary growth and academic achievement. In order to build enthusiasm for this school-wide endeavor, A Night With Words has been offered as the vehicle for inspiring students, parents, and staff.

• In 1st grade, they are studying clothes. This class used fabric paper and made representations of different clothing types. The activity supports the Common Core Standards of interpreting words.
