Thank You for a Great VMworld 2020!

With VMworld 2020 down in the books, I’m thrilled at the collaboration and engagement that took place. Now the event continues on-demand so you can catch and learn from any session you didn’t get a chance to attend yet. No matter your role in your business, we have sessions that will help you expand your own skills, grow your business and prepare for what’s coming in the future.

Thank you for your valuable partnership and we look forward to seeing you at our next event!

Sincerely, Fidelma RussoVMware Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Services Business

Building a Multi-Cloud Future with VMware Vision Hindsight might be 2020, but forecasting can be as well, especially with the visions established during the VMworld 2020 virtual event. During this first-ever digital event, industry experts revealed the changes and updates VMware has made with its partners and clients that will affect platform services over the next year.

VMware’s enterprise presence now encompasses more than 15 million workloads running on VMware in the cloud. 4,300+ partners offer our cloud-based services. More customers and partners are employing multi-cloud platforms and enjoying developer freedom without compromising on security or performance.

VMware’s cloud, app modernization, networking, security, and digital workspace platforms give our partners the ability to build, run, manage, connect and protect applications anywhere. Enterprises can provide personalized digital experiences for increasingly demanding customers and teams while driving multi-cloud growth strategies.

Delivering Any Cloud via Any Service A major development this year is cross-cloud and comprehensive app support. With the launch of VMware Cloud Partner Navigator, our partners now have a complete cloud portfolio that establishes a high-performance infrastructure while letting developers remain agile and rapidly respond to market shifts.

VMware Cloud Partner Navigator is the result of a year-long initiative to streamline our IaaS offerings and the delivery of cloud services. Ongoing VMware Cloud Director innovations continue to enhance networking and extend virtual machine (VM) expertise to containers and Kubernetes (K8s) services. Partners can now offer their customers benefits such as:

Enhancing Network Security Measures To keep networking security performance optimal, VMware has also released VMware Cloud Director 10.2, with new features enhancing networking, security, applications and container services. This update expands partner services with VMware Cloud Director and VMware NSX-T Data Center, integrating key VMware NSX-T capabilities to achieve:

• Enhanced distributed firewalling• Better hybrid cloud connections via layer 2 VPN• Lower costs• New Advanced Load Balancer by Avi

VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (Avi Network Load Balancer) is now available to all partners in NSX Base edition as a replacement for NSX-T native Load Balancer.

Empowering Future-Ready Apps and DevOps With the increasing demand for developer-ready clouds and application services, VMware has made Kubernetes a first-class entity with integrated support for VMware vSphere with VMware Tanzu and the new Container Service Extension 3.0. On top of this, Application Launchpad 2.0—a critical extension to VMware Cloud Director—launched this year, providing streamlined app deployment for tenants. This is accomplished by delivering a catalog of applications from Bitnami, provider single-VM applications and more, enabling 1-click app deployment.

A New Era of Multi-Cloud Performance VMware is always seeking new ways to help our cloud partners expand their enterprise while relying on best-in-class network and security solutions for their applications. Our vision pushes us to go deep to build an efficient cloud. We go wide by expanding beyond the cloud. And we deliver tools to unify and simplify busines expansion.

More exciting innovations will be developed and launched in the year to come, and we’re already preparing for VMworld 2021 and are eager to help you celebrate all the growth and success you’ll achieve from now until then.
