SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

2nd July is a significant day for the staff and students at Vidya Vikas Academy. It’s a day, when VVA was founded in 1994.

In spite of the ongoing Pandemic the celebration this year was not dampened.

VVA celebrated its 26th anniversary in the physical absence of their beloved students. To fill the absence and not to miss on the celebration, a power point presentation was designed, showcasing its brief history, infrastructure and achievements. The Presentation in the form of a video was shared with all the students of the institution.

The objective behind doing so was to rekindle the memories of their school within the hearts of all its students that they may strive to do their best in academics, sports and other Co-curricular activities and thus uphold the esteem of VVA.

GURU PURNIMA

A Special Assembly to observe Guru Purnima was conducted for classes 5 to 10 as the co-curricular activity for the month of July. Through a power point presentation, the students were enlightened to show respect and reverence to the Guru in our lives.

The main objective was to sensitize the students about Guru Purnima. Guru Purnima is a day dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to share their wisdom based on

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON SCHOOL’S ANNIVERSARY

Vidya Vikas Academy celebrated the completion of 26 glorious years on the 2nd of July, 2020.

On the occasion of the school anniversary, a special assembly was conducted by the Pre-Primary teachers. The assembly started with an introduction of our school by Tr. Fatima, followed by the Prayer Service.

The assembly concluded with the school’s anniversary song by Music Tr. Theresa.

VAN MAHOTSAV 2020

India has many festivals related to trees. One of them is the Van Mahotsav. It was started as a crusade with the lofty purpose of saving the mother earth. The objective is to spread awareness about the benefits and the protection of trees and the harm caused by cutting down of trees.

Vidya Vikas Academy celebrated a week long program from July 1 (Wednesday) to July 7 (Tuesday). Various online activities were organized for the students from class 1 to 10 which included ‘adopt a plant’ for class 1 and 2 , Poster making for class 3 to 5, Quiz for class 6 to 8 and Slogan writing for class 9 and 10. Students clicked a picture of the activity suggested and posted it back to the teacher coordinator and the best ones were uploaded on the website.

In the school, our Principal Mrs. Joble Bijoy and our Vice Principal Mrs. Sheetal Kumar planted the saplings in the witness of the VVA staff. The program was conducted maintaining social distancing.

The herbal garden and Green Audit Committee together planted some medicinal plants and saplings around the campus.

PRE-PRIMARY VAN MAHOTSAV FESTIVAL

‘Lending a hand in green to keep the environment clean ‘

On the occasion of the festival of Van Mahotsav, the pre-primary section of the Vidya Vikas Academy organized a special assembly on the 7th of July 2020 depicting the importance of trees. ‘Planting a tree’ was the highlight of the assembly.

JOYS OF JEWELLERY DESIGNS

The topic for the month was”Joys of jewellery” and thus instead of sticking to the conventional method of making jewellery from old,broken, trinkets we thought of asking the students to make jewellery out of “vegetables”.

The idea was to be cost effective by using vegetables available at home or at a nearby local market or grown in the kitchen garden.

To have zero wastage as the same vegetables can be used for salad, curry, rice dishes, etc.

BEST OUT OF WASTE – FOR CLASSES 1 TO 5

With growing increase of waste in our society from households to industrial waste, we at VVA thought of a very innovative way to develop fantastic and useable products made from absolute waste.

ONLINE BEST OUT OF WASTE was conducted as the July activity of the month for classes 1 to 5. Students used waste materials like tetra packs, bottles, old newspapers, coconut shells, jute material, etc. to make beautiful pieces of art at home. The creative display of articles through pictures awestruck the teachers as students from home came out with a variety of innovative ideas.

This array of display is evidence to the immense potential of creativity that our young learners possess.

WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY

On 15th July 2020, a special assembly on World Youth Skills Day was conducted for classes 1 to 10 as the co-curricular activity for the month of July. Through two power point presentation and video clips, the students of class 1 – 4 and 5 – 10 were enlightened about why world youth skills day is celebrated and the importance of honing ones skills from a young age.

Day encourages youth to celebrate the value of acquiring skills as a way to achieve personal success and fulfilment. This year’s theme is ‘learning to learn for life and work’.

The special assembly showcased the resources present at Vidya Vikas Academy which help the students develop their skills. It also consisted of images and video clips sent by students which showcased how the students still continue to practice and improve their skills while at home, proving that all it takes is passion to master your skills.

The assembly ended with this year’s youth skills day theme song that further enlightened the students about the topic.

KNOW YOUR COUNTRY – INDIA (QUIZ)

Quizzes are conducted in schools to ensure active participation among students. Besides the obvious academic benefits of expanding a student’s knowledge and exploring new skills at an early age, quizzes redefine the education system in significant ways:

Today, quizzes are interactive platforms where students are not participating to take home a prize or get famous overnight, but to gain knowledge, seek opportunities to excel beyond academics and secure their future.

At Vidya Vikas Academy, due to pandemic, virtual quiz was conducted for classes 9 and 10 on the topic ‘ Know your Country – India.’ on 2nd July’20. All the students were given an opportunity to test their knowledge by answering the written quiz. The experience of the students was shared with the teacher during the interactive session. The answers were then later sent to the students through fedena.

Since questions are based out-of-syllabus and require critical thinking and extensive research, students get into the habit of innovative learning from an early age.

Quizzing is not just about GK, but about connecting the dots, reading between the lines and arriving at a conclusion. It needs to focus on logical reasoning.

SENIOR SECONDARY SECTION July 02, 2020

SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY 2020

On Thursday, 2nd July, 2020 Vidya Vikas Academy completed 26 years of glory and success. VVA has come a long way since 1994 and it has worked hard to build a conducive environment to encourage passionate learners and responsible citizens.

To remember this special day, a video was uploaded depicting the school’s endless strive towards excellence. It included beautiful memories of the growth of the academy and reflected on the school’s past. Our students, Miss Pratyusha Venigalla and Miss Kinmin Chopra articulated their experiences and expressed their gratitude to everyone who is a part of VVA. At the end of the video, the School Anthem was sung.

WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated on 28th July every year around the world. Nature conservation is the key to a healthy and sustainable society. On this day, people put an effort to protect our Mother Earth and conserve the natural resources.

A special assembly video was uploaded on 28th July, 2020 to celebrate the World Nature Conservation Day.

A student of class 12 spoke on the herbal garden and the waste composting facility at VVA to create an interest and awareness among the students on conservation of herbs and to avoid littering in order to protect our nature. An informative and captivating video was displayed at the end to promote necessary measures of nature conservation.

INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY

International Tiger Day is observed on 29th July every year so that people around the world can raise awareness on tiger conservation. The aim of celebrating this day is to help promote a worldwide system whereby we are dedicated to protecting tigers and their natural habitats.

A video was made and shared with the Senior Secondary Students depicting the importance of existence of Tigers. The video also displayed the types of tigers existing and non – existing in the current era. Lastly, it showed some interesting facts about our National Animal and how necessary it is to save the Tigers.
