Vivint has been making quite a name for themselves over the past several years as they continue to grow to an enormous size. They serve over 675,000 customers and have operating offices all throughout North America. Starting almost 13 years ago, Vivint actually started out under the brand name APEX. The rebranding in 2011 was a result of heavy criticism and poor service. However, most admit that the change was a good move and their company has since improved. They are currently listed as #46 on Forbes America’s Most Promising Companies.

Vivint’s technology and equipment received a 10/10 on BestHomeSecurityCompanys.com’s review. They use the 2GIG GO!Control Wireless system which is the highest quality product in the home security industry. Their new mobile app, powered by Vivint Sky, will allow you to control your home from anywhere. With several sensors, motion detector cameras, and triggered alerts, your house couldn’t be more protected. Those alerts sent to your phone also include notifications about carbon monoxide or smoke detections in your home.

Vivint does not offer self-installation. They charge $199 to install and activate your home security system, which isn’t too bad compared to other home security companies. An adult member of the household will need to be home for the installation. A trained technician will walk through your home to best identify where to set up the system. Unfortunately, there have been frequent complaints about Vivint technicians. Keep in mind that installation must take place before Vivint can issue you an insurance certificate.

BestHomeSecurityCompanys.com does not recommend Vivint for home security services. They do believe Vivint has excellent equipment, but unfortunately most customers have left negative reviews. Vivint also still holds an F with the Better Business Bureau. Most customers have left negative reviews about cancellation issues, aggressive and dishonest selling practices, technicians showing up late for appointments, technicians failing to install systems correctly, and other customer service concerns.

No question, Vivint has the best home security equipment in the industry. The technology used in their system is cutting-edge and well-priced. Each package comes with high-quality features and excellent add-ons, if desired. They have been around for 13 years and have continued to make the effort to learn from past mistakes. Their customer service and selling practices still need drastic improvement to get any sort of complete recommendation from the experts at BHSC.
