SUMMARY I believe that education is the font of personal enlightenment and the kernel of a great society. My
goal is to serve in education at the highest level my capabilities will support. My greatest strengths
are in strategic planning, entrepreneurship, the management and growth of complex

Intel Corporation: I helped develop and deliver a hybrid distance learning program for fast track Intel managers. The program received excellent reviews and we are delivering a second program in 2003.
Togo's Eateries: Hired as a franchise expert witness. I helped craft a defense strategy and
wrote a Motion in Limini, November 2002 through June 2003. Allied Domecq: I directed a strategic planning process involving both Dunkin senior
management and large Dunkin franchisees. I helped develop a middle managers program for
the Dunkin Donuts operation dealing with franchisee-franchisor relations. This program
included delivery of original research and the development of a strategic planning process
that included franchisees and the franchisor. I also worked with the spirits division on issues
of brand management, 2000-2005.
Lucent Corporation: I helped develop and deliver a customized Master of Science in Finance program for young Lucent managers. I then helped deliver a senior executive program to introduce entrepreneurship as a corporate strategy, 1999 to 2007.
Seimens Nixdorf: I delivered an on-site entrepreneurship program that included opportunity assessment and business plan development for Seimens' international new ventures program 1999-2006.
Petrolios de Venezuela: As faculty director I led the development and delivery of a strategic planning process for decentralization of business unit planning and development 1997-2000.
Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators (SEE): This program brings together both
entrepreneurs and educators to learn the art and craft of teaching entrepreneurship at the
college and university level. This program is delivered both in the United States and abroad,
including Costa Rica, Ireland, Chile, Brazil, China, Argentina, Ecuador and Switzerland, June
1996 to 2007.

LEADERSHIP AT PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY
1. 168 faculty, staff, students, alumni and industry experts crafted a Strategic Plan to create
the new model for professional university education. Plan calls for innovation and
collaboration; aggressive applied research agenda; increased outreach to alumni, industry,
and the local community; and a learning model that is active, collaborative, and based on
real world experiences.
2. Core77 National Award for most innovative curriculum in the USA, 2013
3. Expanded the Board of Trustees by adding nine new members.
4. Working with the University CFO, and Board chair, established an Audit Committee of the
Board of Trustees and a Budget Review Committee with membership from across the
stakeholder community.
5. Reorganized development operations to advance fundraising success and bolster alumni
relations, resulting in a record amount of money raised for the University in 6 consecutive
academic years from 2007 to 2013.
6. With our new provost, created three term chairs to reward faculty excellence and
scholarship.
7. Remodeled 189 bed residence hall
8. Opened a new 320 bed residence hall.
9. Opened a new LEED Certified Design Center.
10. Opened a unique state of the art academic building to house the new Philadelphia
University collaborative curriculum.
11. Consolidated 7 schools into 3 colleges, including a new trans-disciplinary curriculum for
Design, Engineering and Commerce.
12. The President's Council created and executed two Board of Trustees retreats, on-going
assessment processes and new board committee structure tied to our strategic plan and our
“Strategic Build”.
13. Created a “University Metrics Dashboard” to quantify and depict key performance
variables.

14. Created the “Director of Innovation” position to promulgate industry engagement that
resulted in $175,000 of annual sponsored student projects.
15. The newly created enrollment management team raised student retention and total
enrollment to a record high in the academic year 2008-2009 and again in 2009-2010.
16. Supporting the newly appointed Dean of Applied Research, founded a state-of-the art
Biomedical Textile Structures Laboratory, October 2009 and a new Composites Institute in
March 2012.
17. Created the case for a $40 million capital campaign; approved by the Board of Trustees in
January 2010. Achieved 148% of the capital campaign goal as of May 2014.
18. Established the annual "Evening of Innovation", celebrating world class innovators, alumni
and the evolving University curriculum, raising $500,000 in one evening. The event has
been through five cycles and is now sponsored by Verizon.
19. Created PhilaU Online in 2012 with 10 programs. One new program is being added every
8 weeks.
20. Six academic programs achieved national ranking: Physician Assistant, Fashion Design,
Midwifery (MS), Graphic Design, Professional Communication, Interior Design.

LEADERSHIP AT BABSON COLLEGE
1. Authored and led the "Allied Centers" strategy that crafted a synergistic plan for mission
congruence in the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship, the Glavin Center for
Global Management and the Center for Women's Leadership.
2. Helped establish Entrepreneurship as a separate division and served as the first chair.
3. Represent the division on the Chairs and Deans Committee and the Graduate Decision
Making Board.
4. Worked on the team that raised a 10 year multi-million dollar grant from the Ewing Marion
Kauffman Foundation.
5. Helped raised a multi-year multi-million dollar grant from the Price Foundation.
6. Principle investigator for $185,000 grants to form a consortium between Babson College
and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
7. Co-authored the capital campaign ten year need assessment for entrepreneurship at Babson
College.
8. Expanded the full time tenured and tenure track faculty in the division from 8 to 13,

recruiting and hiring 3 senior faculty and 3 junior faculty.
9. Solidified the adjunct faculty by instituting a training and mentoring program,
Recruited seasoned entrepreneurs as new adjunct faculty, including Robert Rosenberg
founder of Dunkin Donuts, Thomas Stallkamp former co-chair Daimler-Chrysler, and
Craig Benson founder of Cabletron and former governor of New Hampshire.
10. Successfully presented tenure cases for four division faculty members.
11. Authored and introduced the template and inaugural execution for a discipline based, integrated career path initiative at the college.
12. Authored and introduced the first specialty "Intensity Track" in the MBA curriculum.
13. Formalized the case writing initiative in the division that resulted in a 100 plus case
library (raised mid six figures to fund the case writing initiative).
14. Co-authored and presented with a team the winning application to the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship for the most entrepreneurial MBA program in the United States.
15. Served on the faculty or as chair for each of the 14 years Babson was ranked #1 in
Entrepreneurship by US News and World Report.
16. Launched the first totally web based business plan competition in the United States, involving 300 students and 140 alumni.
17. Launched a totally web based research paper submission, review and communication process for our research conference (600 submittals, 185 papers presented, 315 attendees).
18. Developed and launched a comprehensive marketing plan for the division including:
a. Creation of a major web presence for the entrepreneurship division
b. Created electronic and paper based collateral marketing material
c. Created and managed the Arthur M. Blank Center marketing
manager position
19. Co-authored a comprehensive entrepreneurship capital campaign business case.
20. Enhanced diversity in the division, hiring four women and two persons of color for
tenure track positions and three women and one person of color for staff positions.
21. Formed a consortium with five historically black colleges and universities to write
entrepreneurship cases featuring African American entrepreneurs. Raised $185,000 for
this initiative.
22. Chair, Committee for the establishment of a Global MSC Program at Babson College.
23. Raised $50,000 to craft a plan for Social Entrepreneurship at Babson College.
24. Raised $500,000 to fund Asia based initiatives for Babson College.
