1) Log in to FAMIS.
2) Click on the word Space to access Visual Map and Space Search
To Access the Visual or Spatial ComponentClick on The Visual Map Tab
Use the drop down menu Associated with Building and choose your building
And/or you can choose a floor. You can not choose multiple floors.If you want to see multiple floors choose “All Floors” and either zoom in or out ( either Menu button or Mouse scroll) or pan enable Menu button, left click, hold and move.
To determine room numbers either: 1) hold cursor over space until room number appears

2) Zoom in until room labels appear
3) Click on space and space info will appear in Table of Contents to the left of the Map window
4) If you want to search for space from table, use the three fields at the top left A) Change “Search” to Room Name or Room NoB) Change “Filter” to BuildingC) change “Value” to the room number itself. Press “GO” and room should appear
Notice the space is added to the Space info table of Contents. A) It provides minimum fields and values but if you click on the blue Space number
the tabular view will open in another tab. We will discuss the tabular window Later in Manual
4) If you want to Display spaces by a legend or Theme, use the drop down menu associated with “Theme” and choose
A) Maintenance i) Request Status to see all Work ordersii) Request Status ( Open) to just see Open Work Ordersiii) request Type to various Types of Work Orders
B) Occupancy i) Status to see Full, Partial or Vacantii) Occupant Department ( Do Not Use!!! ) W&M Dept. is in Owning Group. Only used if Occupants are from different department than assigned.
iii) Occupying Group. ( Do Not Use!!! ) Same as above
C) Ownership/Allocation i) Allocated Group. Same as Owning Group but only for Room Histroriesii) Allocated Individual. Too many to displayiii) Billing Group. ( Do Not Use!!! ) Ties to Departmentsiv) Ownership Status ( Do Not Use!!! ) v) Owning Group Use to display Departments!!!

Finding Space by looking up through Table
1) Change Select to SPACE
1) Choose Your Property by clicking on “Select”, typing property name Press “Find” and click on property from list.2) Then you can choose floor or space description ( Room Number)3) Then Click “FIND”
1) Results are below.2) Make sure to RIGHT click on the room number and open in new tab. The back button doesn’t work in the database. The tabular window will open.3) Or Click on Visual Map to see the spatial component.
1) If you are interested in finding spaces based on a Department or Space Use or Function based on a Property ( Building) or Floor of that Property select your criteria and click on “FIND”.
This is the Tabular window for A space!!Click on the Headings to open sub windows to view data values associated with the respective Headings.
