A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT | 1
Welcome to Westfield State University, America’s first college without barrier to race, gender or economic class, founded in 1838 by reformer/educator Horace Mann.
As you visit our beautiful campus, I think that you’ll discover why U.S. News & World Report ranked us first among our state peers in the category of “Regional Universities – North” in its latest “Best Colleges” edition and why MASSInc named us “Massachusetts’ Best Value,” preceding all public and private institutions of higher education in our state.
We’ve much to celebrate – affordability, exceptional academics, student services, exciting new majors, a fine study abroad program, community service projects and internships, an award-winning athletic program, a calendar of world-class events and a downtown initiative with housing, an art gallery and collaborative cultural ventures.
Westfield State University is a great place to work, learn and grow. Enjoy your visit and come back often.
Evan S. Dobelle President
