AIM:The aim of the project is design system which manages the power of shopping mall in efficient way like according with people is getting entered and exit counting.

Objective:The project provides a method for automatic control of devices (lights, fans, or AC s) throughout a shopping mall. A unique architecture of occupancy sensors(biderectional IR sensors) includes entry/exit sensors for detecting movement through doorways. The present project provides a system for saving power of a shopping mall.

MICROCONTROLLER A Micro controller consists of a powerful CPU tightly coupled with memory, various I/O interfaces integrated on to a single silicon chip. The microcontroller AT89S52 is the major part of this project. It controls the functions of all the devices in the circuit. The main features are 4kbytes program memory 32 I/O lines Low power, high performance 8bit microcontroller

IR-SENSORS Sensor can be used to measure the speed of object moving at a very high speed detecting the moment. An IR sensor is nothing but an IRLED which converts the voltage or current into light.

RELAYS Relay is a device which acts like a switch to on and off the devices. It is an electrically operated switch which is a double throw switch. The coil resistance of the relay is 400ohms. It receives the signals from the microcontroller and performs the on and off operation of the switch.

LCDAn LCD(liquid crystal display) is used to display the numbers,charecters and graphics. It is a seven segment display. It displays the count of the persons who enter as well as exit the doorways according to the signal from the IR sensors.

POWER SUPPLY Main AC 230v. It is converted to 18v with stepdown transformer. The other devices under power supply are Bridge rectifier Filter Regulator

Photo Diode It is a type of photo-detector capable of converting light into either voltage or current. Its operation is much similar to the p-n junction diode It gets activated by the light from LED and would turn on the devices.
