Why can’t I go down to the dam on weekdays? Warragamba Dam is a working dam. During the week staff carry out maintenance, monitoring and other operations. It is not safe for members of the public to access the dam during these times. Warragamba Dam Visitor Centre Open 10am to 4pm every day (except for Christmas and Good Friday) Permanent Exhibition: Water for Life This exciting exhibition tells the story of Sydney’s dams and catchments, and the history and future of Sydney’s water supply. Water for Life features audio-visual material and interactive displays. Annual Exhibition Program The exhibitions in the Burragorang Room change on a regular basis, so there’ll always be something new and interesting to see when you visit us again. Kids Activities Visit the Burragorang Room (when school excursions are not in process) to find a range of fun, hands-on activities to keep your little ones engaged and learning. Our grounds Open 8am to 5pm, 7 days a week Extended opening hours until 6pm during daylight saving time on weekends and public holidays. Where to grab a bite or drink? Food and drinks are available in the nearby Warragamba township, however there is no kiosk within the Warragamba Dam precinct. Drinking water is available from a number of bubblers and bottle refill points around the grounds. Barbeque facilities are not available within the grounds but can be found in the adjacent Warragamba Recreation Reserve.
