Dear Parents and Caregivers, Wow it is week 10 and hasn’t our term been super busy and exciting with excursions, special events and sporting opportunities. A huge thanks to all my staff for your efforts over the term. The staff and students have all battled some nasty illnesses and hopefully we can leave them behind as we head into Term 4. Term Dates We break up for our holidays on Friday 27th September and we will all resume on Monday 14th October. There is no development day next term. Gala Days Congratulations to our Junior Basketball team who won their competition on Friday. Great effort and thank you to all teachers who have, and will take, our teams to the Gala Days.

We will also be having our girls’ basketball and boys’ cricket Gala Day this Wednesday. Come along and support our students! NAPLAN NAPLAN Results were sent home today for Year 3 and Year 5 students. We are very proud of all of our student’s achievements in NAPLAN and throughout the year. Staff Changes Mrs Morgan will be on leave until week 3 of next term. She has jetted off on an US adventure with her family. Ms Weaver and Mr Griffin will be relieving while she is gone. P&C Meeting The P&C meeting is on tonight at 6.00pm in the staffroom. All welcome. Dates to remember….

Gala Days Wednesday 25th September. Girls Basketball and Boys Cricket are the sports being played on the day. Term Dates Term 3 ends on Friday 27th September. Term 4 starts on Monday 14th October. Book Fair The Scholastic Book Fair is on Wednesday 6th November to Friday 8th November (Week 4) next term. Helper Morning Tea Thank You Alma staff are holding a morning tea thank you for all of the people who have helped out during the year. The morning tea will be held on Thursday 28th November in the staff room. Presentation Day Alma’s Annual Presentation Day will be held on Friday 6th December at the Whitehouse Convention Centre commencing at 10.00am Year 6 Farewell The Year 6 Farewell is on Tuesday 10th December in Kester Hall from 6.00pm – 8.30pm. Year 5 students and their parents will be sent home with a request for help on the evening.

P&C Meeting Tonight The P&C monthly meeting will be held this evening in the staffroom commencing at 6:00pm. Please feel free to come along and contribute.

Kindergarten 2020 Orientation

Kinder 2020 Transition kicks off with the Children’s Day in the Park on October 23rd (Term 4 Week 2). Children will then attend Alma each Wednesday from 10am to 11am for the following 5 weeks where parents will attend information session while children participate in various activities. If your child will be commencing Kindergarten in 2020, please ensure the enrolment form and required documents have been returned to Alma. Enrolment packages including the Kindergarten Orientation Program are available from the office at Alma Public School.

GALA Day Results Alma Junior Boys collected the basketball shield at Fridays Gala Day. The seniors worked hard with every game close but missed out on a trophy. Miss Lawrence was very proud of the boy’s behaviour and were a credit to the school with their positive attitude and sportsmanship.

Both the Girls Senior and Junior Soccer teams came second in their comp. Mrs Carberry congratulated all the girls on their excellent behaviour and ‘can do’ attitude.

P&C Major Raffle Tickets have been sent home to families for the

P&C major raffle, which will be drawn at Presentation Day on Friday 6th December.

The prize is a Sony PlayStation 4, kindly

donated by Sumtin Electrical. Ticket are $5.00 each and only 200 tickets will be sold.

More tickets are available from the office.

Kindergarten 2020 If you have a child starting Kindergarten next year (2020) please complete the form below and return it to school. Children must turn 5 years of age before 31st July 2020 for enrolment in Kindergarten. If you are aware of neighbors or friends who have a child due to start next year please pass an enrolment form onto them.
