16. Lord's Supper: The Lord's Supper is a participation in the emblems of the body and blood of Jesus as an expression of faith in Him, our Lord and Saviour. In this experience of communion Christ is present to meet and strengthen His people. As we partake, we joyfully proclaim the Lord's death until He comes again. Preparation for the Supper includes self-examination, repentance, and confession. The Master ordained the service of foot washing to signify renewed cleansing, to express a willin-gness to serve one another in Christlike humili-ty, and to unite our hearts in love. The commu-nion service is open to all believing Christians. (1 Cor. 10:16, 17; 11:23-30; Matt. 26:17-30; Rev. 3:20; John 6:48-63; 13:1-17.)

Make a Real Difference
Real magazine is a bimonthly publication packed with the same Christcentered stories that make Guide such a hit with kids ages 9-15. But Real is designed for those outside the Adventist fellowship. Read more about it at http://realmagazineonline.org/index.php
What is Children’s Sabbath?
Children’s Sabbath is a day set aside by churches all over the world for the purpose of spotlighting and affirming the children in our midst—and for drawing attention to the needs of children at risk in our world. Traditionally, this special day is the third Sab-bath in October, but each church may choose to observe it at any time. This is a great opportunity to invite neighbors and friends to bring their children.

A Saint in the Making
In the early days of Christianity, a young man named Augustine grew up in the city of Tagaste in North Africa. At age 17, Augustine, who had a Christian mother and a pagan father, left home to go to school. Like many young people leaving home for the first time, he enjoyed lots of wild parties and found a girlfriend in the city of Carthage. During those years his mother's Christian beliefs were the farthest thing from his mind. But his mother, Monica, never stopped praying for him. Years later, when Augustine moved to Italy to take a new job and find a wife, his mother went with him. She was still praying that someday he would give his life to God. One day Augustine felt impressed to take up his Bible and begin reading it. He read Romans 13:13 and was struck by its message to "walk
properly, as in the day." He decided to abandon the life he'd been living and become a Christian. After his baptism, he returned home to Africa with his mother. Sadly, Augustine's mother died while on that journey, but she died knowing that her long years of praying for her son had finally received an answer. Augustine went on to become one of the most famous and important writers and teachers in the early Christian church. (Blog taken from http://realmagazineonline.org/index.php/devotionals)
