VISION To be recognized as a Centre of Excellence in Civil
Engineering Education, Research and Consultancy,
contributing to Sustainable Development and growth of the
Nation
MISSION
To provide high quality education in Civil Engineering,
inculcating professional, managerial, leadership skills and
ethics, through appropriate pedagogical and practical
inputs, for successful career and scholarly endeavours, to
meet the changing needs of the society.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
• Fundamental Knowledge: Strengthen fundamental
knowledge in mathematics, basic sciences and
engineering fundamentals through professional practice
• Engineering Practice: Develop theoretical and practical
knowledge in Civil Engineering, to practise in various
sectors, focusing on sustainable solutions, professional
ethics and social accountability
• Professional Skills: Perform effectively both as leader
and team member in a professional environment utilizing
managerial and life skills to achieve the goals of
engineering projects
• Lifelong Learning: Pursue higher studies and research
and recognize the need for updating engineering
solutions and practice, to meet the changing professional
requirements
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
• Apply fundamental analytical methods and appropriate
computational techniques in designing a system,
components or processes in core areas of Civil
Engineering.
• Utilize principles, hardware and software that are
appropriate to produce reports and documents, and
perform economic analyses and cost estimates related to
design, construction, operations and maintenance of
systems associated with Civil Engineering.
• Provide sustainable solutions to Civil Engineering
problems, selecting appropriate engineering materials
and practices.
Plastic pollution has become an epidemic. Every year,
we throw away enough plastic to circle the Earth four times.
Much of that waste doesn’t make it into a landfill; instead end
up in our oceans, where it is responsible for killing one million
seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals every year.
Plastic Pollution facts:
• Every year the world uses 500 billion plastic bags
• Each year, at least 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the
oceans, equivalent of a full garbage truck per minute
• In the last decade, we produced more plastic than in the
whole last century
• 50 % of the plastic we use is single-use or disposable
• We buy 1 million plastic bottles every minute
• Plastic makes up 10% of all of the waste we generate
Plastic is uniquely problematic as it is non-
biodegradable and sticks around for a lot longer (like up to 1,000
years longer) than other forms of trash. The small pieces that get
dissolved into the oceans are eaten by fishes which are later
consumed by humans. Also sea salt around the world has been
contaminated by micro plastics.
We're not just talking about people dumping their
garbage overboard. Around 80 percent of marine litter actually
originates on land—either swept in from the coastline or carried
to rivers from the streets during heavy rain via storm drains and
sewer overflows. Therefore, plastic pollution is a huge
environment and health issue.
Hence governments, industries, communities and
individuals should come together and explore sustainable
alternatives and urgently reduce the production and excessive
use of single-use plastic polluting our environment and
threatening human health.

AMAZING TALENTS "I wanna leave"
These Nights in full of loneliness
I gaze upon the starry paradise,
What is your name?
Do you have a place to go?
Light soar at the end of the night
Still, corners of my room went dark,
Old Bag that was pretty and bonny
Became blight and bulky,
Patches can revive them
Not the scars and ache,
Need to change that timepiece
Cause I have been in the vile time,
Rose that bloomed yesterday
Taught me how hurtful is the truth,
While Searching for better answers
Found the key, now I can open my heart,
Got pairs of shoes that take me somewhere
From this misty morning to endless journey,
I never quit, it won't hurt, just to explore
The story never ends here
I just left this place empty...
