Special Thanks Never the Less, Inc would like to send a special shout out to Linda Robinson. Linda has really stepped up as a proactive, dedicated, and unwavering member of NTL. Linda’s duties consist of planning, purchasing, and preparing food for NTL events and meetings. One doesn’t have to call Linda; she calls enthusiastically asking, “What do you need me to do?” In preparation for our Celestial Radiance Gala on March 31st, Linda will again put her best foot forward and step in where she is needed, proudly wearing her chef hat. In addition, Linda is also our top-seller of tickets for the Celestial Radiance Gala, where ticket sales are a integral part of the event being successful. We believe Linda will be a true, dedicated, longtime member of Never The Less, Inc. We appreciate her and everything she does. Help us applaud Linda in all her efforts. Founded by Kelli Harmon and Joenita Alexander, THDT is a non-profit award winning, positive, youth competition & show dance organization originated right here in Cincinnati in July

1999. This year the Highsteppers are upon celebrating their 13th year anniversary! THDT uses the art of dance and drill as

unique tools to instill necessary life skills in young ladies as they mature into young women. Working with young ladies between the ages of 10–23 years, all THDT rules, activities, and events are designed to promote leadership, self-esteem, confidence, dignity, and positive interpersonal skills, while stressing the importance of academic excellence, where this year’s average GPA is a 3.4! THDT does not support any

explicit music or choreography, all routines are tasteful, family oriented and very entertaining.

THDT highlights include 4 consecutive years as the Black Family Reunion Best Marching Unit; winner of the Westside Harvest Home Parade; National, Regional, and State award winners in High Kick, Hip Hop, and Pom!! In 2009 they were named Ameridance GRAND Champs. Thus far during this

year’s dance season, THDT has accumulated numerous awards and trophies.

Kelli Harmon, head coach, director and founder, explains from working with the dancers she “gains satisfaction from helping young ladies uncover remarkable tools that will equip her for womanhood, while allowing her to enjoy the treasures of her

teenage years. I love being a part of the continuous blessing to our community." When asked which scripture best relates to

THDT, Kelli quickly quotes 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” explaining “we live in a

society that often excuses or glorifies wrong-doing. Everything good is from God. We try to instill in our members through the

good - hard work, determination, commitment, and honesty...success is surely at hand.” Over the next ten years, Kelli envisions THDT obtaining its own dance studio, but

enthusiastically states “everything happens in God’s own time.”

Being involved with THDT for six months, I am thoroughly impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm of the team,

coaching staff, and dancers alike. Please see page 5 for photos.

“I believe the children are the future, teach them well and let them lead the way.”

In the Community

Partnerships in Tutoring

Ebony Stone has been volunteering her time working with Ulmer and Berne LLP, who has partnered with Winton Hills Academy and St. Aloysius Orphanage to make a difference in

the inner community by sponsoring and organizing tutoring sessions for local and neighborhood schools. With community efforts Ulmer & Berne LLP, are currently

helping children with upcoming OAA testing for 3rd - 8th graders. Tutoring sessions began in March and will take place every Saturday in March from 11am to 1pm. Kudos to Ebony for shining a much needed light on the education

of our children, reminding them that they are Never the Less!

A Night of GOOD DEEDS

Saturday, March 10th, a small group of Never the Less members enjoyed a wonderful outing,

supporting Tyler Perry’s latest movie “ Good Deeds”:

I came away from the movie feeling as if I have been wrapped in my favorite quilt. Some of

the pieces were rough in texture, feeling prideful, selfish and arrogant, other pieces of

the quilt felt disparate, worn, hopeless, unloved, while other spots of the quilt were

comforting, loving, soothing and appreciated. But isn’t that’s what makes a good quilt –

different fabrics from our lives. I enjoyed the movie. ~ Doris Thomas
