Prototype
The unrolled panel was not to the right scale.
The adjacent panels do not match and are out of propor-tion.
The unrolled panel are exploded, making it a much longer process to assemble the lantern model.
Diagram below is the final Rhino work on the unrolling of model.
The panels were unrolled horizontally.
Panels were glued together using UHU Glue.
In total, there are 9 levels of the model.
The models were assembled, layer by layer from the 1st level to 4th and then from the 5th level to 9th level.
It took me 8 hours to assemble the entire model.
All spider web structure started our with a single thread.
The frame is made first and the layout of the web starts from the centre of the radius and out towards the frame,
I want to show the timeline of how the spider web is formed through my lantern model.
The lantern model starts from the very bottom (small scale) and ends up at the end (largest scale).
The surface isocurve is maintain to give a feel of touch-ing spider webs.
