Scholarship OpportunityNorthern Virginia Community College Biotechnology Scholarship $10,000 ScholarshipThe Rividium Biotechnology scholarship is now open. All High School seniors from the Northern Virginia area who are interested in completing the Associate Degree in Biotechnology program at NOVA and have a GPA of 3.0 are encouraged to apply. This scholarship covers tuition and books for the whole duration of the program.

learns ALL of STEM topics with the goal of developing a “game” project
Computer Game Design combines STEM core competencies
Girls in Technology
◦Team, project and role-based learning and creative experience
◦Class will be divided into teams Each girl will learn about all the roles on a game
design team and assume one or two main roles: Producer, User Interface Designer, Rules of Play, Scoring,
and Level Design Design a basic 3D game within the Unity game
engine Learn about the roles of story writing and music
within game design Discover how the Game Industry touches many
different fields

WHO WILL THE LUCKY GIT GIRL BE?All-Girls Summer Computer Game Design Course!
Will award a GIT Mentor-Protégé to attend the summer program. To qualify, GIT mentoring program girls are requested to participate in a GMU survey to share their interests in learning about game design and to contribute their ideas for the course design. Their survey responses will also be an integral part of educational research in this growing field of study ( 9 short questions). https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9RT32WS

Scholarship OpportunityGIRLS IN TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIPA total of four scholarships valued at $1000 will be awarded, one in each STEM field: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Scholarship Deadline: Sunday, May 18
Scholarship Questions1. What is your big dream?2. Now that you have had this mentor/protégé experience, how will you go back to your school and encourage other girls? Be as descriptive as possible.3. Reflecting upon the GIT 7 Core Beliefs, which will help you achieve your dream?
How To ApplyThere are four categories students may apply: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Eligible student have two ways to submit their scholarship entries; Essay or Video. Essays should answer the three scholarship questions. Each question should contain 250-300 words, for total of 500-600 words.Videos should answer the three scholarship questions: Each question should be approximately 2-3 minutes on each topic, for a total of 4-6 minutes.
