Albums and Studies

Cover: Thomas GouldBorn in London in 1983, Thomas began violin lessons at the age of three with Sheila Nelson. He later studied with Joji Hattori and György Pauk at the Royal Academy of Music, also gaining greatly from attending IMS Prussia Cove and Verbier Festival Academy, as well as playing to Mauricio Fuks, David Takeno and Ivry Gitlis. Since making his concerto debut with Kammerphilharmonie Graz in 2004, Thomas has appeared as soloist with many leading orchestras with a broad repertoire that includes Nico Muhly’s ‘Seeing is Believing’ for electric violin and Thomas Ades’s Violin Concerto. Chosen by London’s Evening Standard as a rising star of 2008, Thomas also maintains a strong profile in the orchestral world as leader of Aurora Orchestra, co-leader of Britten Sinfonia, and guest leader of McGill Chamber Orchestra in Montreal. Thomas plays a violin made by Gennaro Gagliano in 1754. “Gould breathes new life into Schönberg.” The Evening Standard, May 2007, Purcell Room, London.
