ROMANS 11THE SERMON-IN-A-SENTENCE

JESUS is the root, and WE are ALL grafted branches

So I ask, (has Israel) tripped up so as to fall completely? Certainly not! But through their stumbling salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. Now if their stumbling means riches for the world, and if their impoverishment means riches for Gentiles, how much more will their fullness mean!

Romans 11:11-12

Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I celebrate my ministry in order to make my own people jealous, and thus save some of them. For if their casting away means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead! If the part of the dough offered as first fruits is holy, then so is the wholebatch; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

Romans 11:13-16

But if some of the branches were broken off, and you - a wild olive tree - were grafted in among them, and came to share the rich root of the olive tree with its rich sap, do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember this: it isn’t you that supports the root, it’s the root that supports you. (But) you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” That’s all very well. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand firm by faith. So don’t become proud about it; instead, be afraid.

Romans 11:17-20

After all, if God did not spare the natural branches, He certainly won’t spare you. Note carefully then, that God is both kind and severe: severe toward those who have fallen, but He is kind to you, provided you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

Romans 11:21-22

And they, too, if they do not remain in unbelief, will be grafted (back) in. God is able, you see, to graft them in again. For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will they, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

Romans 11:23-24

Let the trees be your inspiration:• When you see them, let it remind you

to worship Him for all He has made• When you see them, tell God
