Call for Media Team Members

Love taking pictures and videos? Dislike writing tedious articles? Want to be an equal part of an officials team, where the ideas of everyone, as well as their hard work is respected? Well, then Giedrė Kazokaitė and Jeroen de Marteau, the Editors of Vilnius 2015, the 2nd National Session of EYP Lithuania, have an opportunity that is definitely of inter-est to you!

The way we see things

EYP Journalism in its current form, where the main focus lies on providing printed issues, is extremely outdated. We want to upgrade EYP Journalism to a more contemporary way of dealing with media.

Therefore, we will mainly focus on Video & Photography as our key output sources. However, we will do this without neglecting to maintain a high academic standard in all of our work. In addition we’ll use social media as a gather point rather than the standard printed issues.

What we suggest is a creative, artistic media team that works not only for self-improvement, but also searches for new ways to provide qualitative media output. It is these products that will contribute to the ‘EYP spirit’, thus improv-ing the quality of the session and providing long-lasting memories for all participants. In the end, the most important part of it all is to develop yourself in the best environment possible.

What you can expect from us?

We solemnly swear to provide you with constant support (and love) throughout the session and promise to be easy going and cool editors. You will all have an equal say about the output we’ll produce. Our CJO training day will be quite intensive, yet extremely helpful and we promise to take all of your wishes into consideration.

No more usual EYP “journalism”, no more “Journos”! By joing us you will be a part of a modern and daring media team. Where we all are media team members (MTM`s), on equal footing, supporting each other every step of the way.

What we hope you will bring to the team?

First and foremost we want you to be open minded and creative. In short you should possess the true EYP mentality.

We are looking for media team members with beginner to intermediate skills in video-editing and photography. This means you are eager to learn - or already know - how to use (1) a camera in manual mode and (2) Adobe Pre-miere Pro or similar software. Good media equipment is a bonus, but by no means a necessity.

How to apply?

First of all download the ‘Personal Details’ Form. Provide your basic information - i.e. contact details and session history. Then you will be asked to share a link to a video. What kind of video? Well, one where you tell us who you are and why you want to be a part of the Media Team of Vilnius 2015, while showing off your skills. This video should not be longer than 2-3 minutes.

Easy as that! We are waiting with huge excitement to see all of your eager faces. Good luck!

Call for Vice-Presidents and Chairpersons

The concept of chairing in EYP is one which has become relatively stagnant; the same procedures, are used over and over again, with the same results. The Session Theme, ‘Youth for Democracy’ is one which advocates the con-stant development that young people can bring to society through renewed perspectives; let’s make the same true of EYP chairing. Let’s work together, create together, and innovate together.

Vision for the Chairs Team

Create an immersive and inclusive experience for the delegates - work with new methods of pre-session inter-action and research between chairs and delegates.

Tailored trainings with a collective, dynamic focus, that take the form of consistent contribution from all partici-pants as opposed to a classic teaching scenario.

The chance to work with an altered resolution format designed to promote more wide-ranging yet topical dis-cussions that lead to a more structured GA.

A more collaborative approach to Committee Work, based on the concept of idea-sharing and co-development amongst committees.

Innovate the traditional aspects of GA, to provide a more engaging experience.

What you can expect from the Session?

The chance to work on, and implement your own ideas and philosophies with regard to chairing.

Be part of a dynamic environment that seeks to both challenge and reward your effort.

Committed support and guidance from all members of the team.

Innovative training methods that place a focus on collaborative achievement and development in your work.

What we want you to bring to the team?

Confidence to implement and develop your own creative ideas.

An unwavering positive attitude and complete enthusiasm for the work at hand.

A desire to further and challenge yourself, both academically and personally.

How to apply?

Provide your personal details and session history in the attached ‘Personal Details’ Form,

Compose a statement with reference to the vision, of approximately 600 words, that details the following; Your motivation to attend the Session; Why you are suited for the role that you are applying for; What you hope to gain from your involvement; what you can bring to the team as a result of your involvement.

We look forward to reading your applications, and welcoming you to Vilnius in March!
