Maintenance Department
The days are getting longer and spring is just around the corner.
There are a couple of items I would like to discuss in this month’s
edition of the Village Voice.
Let’s start with clogged drains; if your drain gets clogged or is drain-
ing very slowly please call maintenance or fill out a work order.
Many of the drain cleaners are very corrosive and can harm our
plumbing system and more importantly are very dangerous to the
staff, which has to come and work on the drain. So please do not
use any drain cleaners, just call maintenance.
We had a recent inquiry about the possibility of painting a cross
walk on Woodside Village road in the vicinity of the Woodside 1
dumpster and the IEH maintenance shed. This would be done to
hopefully help provide a safe crossing area for the residents coming
for our Thursday night meal. If anybody has a better spot, please
let me know.
Also when talking about Woodside Village road, please be mindful
of your speed. There are some corners that you cannot see around
and we must be careful of people using the road

News from Property Management
Greetings Residents!
I wish everyone a lovely and joyous holiday season. And let there be Peace on Earth in 2019.
A PM Reminder:
Please do not dump furniture or appliances anywhere in the common or garbage areas of Island El-derly Housing. Please make arrangements to have these items disposed of properly. Our garbage service does not take these items. Thank-you for your cooperation!
Did you know? Our Residents can request free Technician visits from Comcast to solve technical problems or to deliver, exchange, and/or install new equipment. When you are speaking to Comcast, make sure you identify yourself as an IEH Resident and ask for this free service.
And now time for Trivia. Last Month’s question was: In what decade did both the Macy’s Thanks-giving Day Parade and America’s Thanksgiving Parade start?
The answer is: The 1920’s, the year 1924 to be exact. Resident honorable mention is: Ada Macomb-er. We are taking a little break from trivia this month to present a Woodside 1 Resident Survey.
In the coming months, IEH will be refurbishing the downstairs “craft” room - cleaning, painting and in-stalling a new floor. We would like Resident feedback about future usage for this room. To make your opinion heard, please respond and submit the questionnaire below to the Property Management Of-fice.
******************************************************************
Would you like the downstairs room used exclusively for crafts? _____________________
Would you like the downstairs room used exclusively for exercise equipment?________________
Would you like a mixed usage for the downstairs room, i.e. crafts and exercise?_______________
Do you have other ideas for Resident use of the downstairs room?_________________________
