Brown, Cahmas Cottage, The Street, Chattisham. 01473 652677. e.mail: [email protected] Councillors are elected every fourth year by those on the local electoral roll and each year the Councillors elect a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Committee.The Parish Council meets at 7.30p.m. in the Meeting Room, at the Community Hall, on the second Thursday of the month (not August) – see notices in the parish magazine ‘Village Link’ and on notice boards around the villages.The Parish Council also meets on the 4th Thursday of the month to discuss any Planning Applications were comments have to be back to Babergh D.C. before the following Parish Council Meeting. ALL Meetings are open to the public. At the Annual Parish Meeting (April) electors hear reports on the activities of the Council and other local organisations and can have their say on local matters. The Parish Council takes responsibility for many matters affecting the village. It can also use its ‘village rate’ to provide grants and other facilities for village organisations. (Applications for grants should be sent to the Treasurer by 31st

The friends are a charitable organisation working to raise funds for the repair and upkeep of Hintlesham and Chattisham Churches. Fund raising events are organised on a regular basis throughout the year, including The Spring Plant Sale, Restoration Supper, Quiz Night, Charity Golf Day. Photographic Competition and Concerts.

The Friends long term aim is to improve the condition and the maintenance of both 13 century churches which make such an important contribution to the Suffolk Landscape and Village Life.

More information can be obtained by contacting any of the committee members who are keen to receive support for their activities.

EDUCATIONThe Hintlesham & Chattisham Harriet Lloyd Fund.This fund offers small grants which can be made available for educational purposes to anyone who lives in either of the villages, or is a pupil at the village school (H&C CofEVCP SCHOOL)Subject to approvals by the Fund Panellists representing the School, the Community and the Church, and ratification by the Suffolk Community Foundation, which manages the money on the Funds behalf, there are very few restrictions. DEFIBULATORS (Defibs)We are very fortunate to have 3 Defibs in our Villages. 2 were donated by the British Heart Foundation, and the 3rd was purchased from sponsorship from local business and clubs. They are situated outside the Community Hall, Hintlesham, and one in the red Telephone box in The Street, Chattisham and one in Red Telephone Box, Duke Street, Hintlesham.

They are all unlocked, if you need to use them please just break the seal and open the door. An alarm will go off, but will stop when door closed again.If you do use them please put back in case and contact [email protected] who will arrange for new pads to be installed.
