Leesburg, VA (July 2, 2013) — Calling all artists! Village at Leesburg invites area artists to

submit entries for the inaugural Artful August Juried Art Show, which will award $5,000 in

prizes in the adult division and scholarships to winning high school student artists. In essence

entry for the show’s adult division is free because artists will receive a gift card from a Village at

Leesburg merchant valued for the full paid fee. Entry is free for students to enter the show’s

high school division, which will award a $500 scholarship to three students and a Village at

Leesburg matching $500 donation to their school art departments.

The Artful August information and entry forms are available at www.villageatleesburg.com.

Artwork submission is Saturday, August 3 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Artful August show

location at 1603 Village Boulevard, Leesburg, in Suite 100, located near the center of Village at

Leesburg.

Artists can submit two dimensional entries in the following categories: acrylic painting, collage,

ink or charcoal drawing, oil painting, pastels, photography, printmaking, watercolors, and mixed

media, which is only comprised from any of these previous listed genres. The show Jury will

select adult division winners to receive the following awards: $1,000 Best of Show, $500 1st

Prize, $400 2nd Prize, $300 3rd Prize, and 14 $200 Honorable Mention Prizes, and select the

three high school student winning entries.

Artful August Show

The Jury selected artwork will be displayed at the Artful August Show from August 14 – 18,

from 12 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, and from 12 - 5 p.m. on Sunday. Artful

August show admission is free and guests have the opportunity to purchase Jury selected adult

division artwork, with 30% of sold artwork sales donated to the Loudoun Arts Council.

About Village at Leesburg

Village at Leesburg is a strong supporter of community activities including art programs. Arts in

the Village, a community art gallery operated by the Loudoun Arts Council, opened last year at

Village at Leesburg. .The gallery is located at 1601 Village Market Blvd. Suite 116, near
