The department of civil engineering organized special guest lecture on the topic “Placement opportunities for civil engineers” during

the inaugural function of ICI-Student chapter on 06.04.2016.

The guest lecture was attended by first, second, third and final year students of civil engineering and the faculties. Ms. Harshita of

4th semester student performed the invocation. Dr. Nagabhushana, Head, Dept. of civil engineering, welcomes the speaker and gathering.

D.L.Venkatesh Babu, Professor, Dept. of civil engineering introduce the speaker to the gathering.. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.

Shashi Kumara S.R, Asst. Professor.

The speaker Dr. Aswath M U, Chairman, Indian Concrete Institute-Karnataka, Bangalore Centre, enlightened the students and faculty

members about the placement and employment opportunities for civil engineering graduates in different sectors. He had mentioned about

interdisciplinary placement opportunities and industry requirements. He motivated students about requirement of continuation updation,

soft skills and effective communication.

The above guest lecture arranged to bridge the curriculum gap. Students and faculties of civil engineering are benefited by this
