SCHOOL WALK-IN ON APRIL 20 We are parents, students, teachers, and other school staff taking a stand in support of our school ________________________ and of all public schools in our town of ____________________. April 20 - National Day of Action against Gun Violence in Schools. — NEA and NCAE are official partners of this event along with AFT, the Network for Public Education, the BATS, Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms and Students Demand Action, Gifford, and dozens of other organizations. We are asking parents, students, educators and community advocates in communities across America to engage in actions like Walk-Ins that will bring attention to end gun violence in our schools. We launched http://protectourschools.com/ and ask that you help us spread the word about this day of action by sharing the link. What are Walk-Ins? Just that! Parents, teachers and students gather out front of their school 30-45 minutes before their duty-day starts. They rally, have donuts, coffee, etc. Then they all walk in together or line up and high-five students on the way in to school. This provides a positive action that says these are our schools and our communities. Walk-ins build relationships. Walk-ins build power. Walk-ins build hope. We are joining with NCAE and these other partners, linking together parents, educators, students, school staff, and community members in cities across the country TODAY and WALKING-IN to support an end to gun violence in schools. HELP US TO “WALK-IN” AND PUT AN END TO GUN VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS.
