American Memorial Poster You have been approached by an advertising agency to create a poster for the Remembrance of 9/11. Use the skills that you have learned so far in this class to create the poster. Follow the following steps to complete the project: 1. Search the Internet for at least 4 pictures to include in your poster. a. Make sure the pictures are high resolution to ensure that they are not blurry or pixilated when you insert them into your poster (From the Google images search page, click on the word large on the left side of the page). b. You are going to remove the backgrounds from the pictures. Be sure to pick images that have a simple background to make it easier to remove. c. Save the images in your multimedia/web design folder. 2. Open Photoshop. Click on File > New. From the new dialog box, enter America Memorial in the name box and change the background to White. Set the Width & Height to inches and then Width = 10 & Height = 8. This is the file that you insert all of the other pictures on to.

American Memorial Poster

You have been approached by an advertising agency to create a poster for the Remembrance of 9/11. Use the skills that you have learned so far in this class to create the poster.

Follow the following steps to complete the project:

1. Search the Internet for at least 4 pictures to include in your poster.

a. Make sure the pictures are high resolution to ensure that they are not blurry or pixilated when you insert them into your poster (From the Google images search page, click on the word large on the left side of the page).

b. You are going to remove the backgrounds from the pictures. Be sure to pick images that have a simple background to make it easier to remove.

c. Save the images in your multimedia/web design folder.

2. Open Photoshop. Click on File > New. From the new dialog box, enter America Memorial in the name box and change the background to White. Set the Width & Height to inches and then Width = 10 & Height = 8. This is the file that you insert all of the other pictures on to.

3. Click on File > Open. Then pick the first image to open and repeat for the other 3 pictures.

4. Use the skills learned so far in the class to remove the backgrounds from your images and move them onto the America Memorial file & resize to fit using CMD+T. Be sure to hold down the Shift & Alt keys when resizing.

5. Next you are going to change the opacity of the images to make them transparent. You are going to use the Layer Panel.

6. In the layer panel, change the opacity slider to make all of the images visible.

7. Look at the before & after images. The opacity setting lets you see the images that are under the top layers and also allow the images to blend together better.

8. Arrange the images on your canvas the way that you like the best. Be sure to leave room for your title.

9. Using the type tool to add a title of your choice. The title should reflect the theme of the poster and be positive towards America.

10.Apply a stroke to the title using the Add a Style Layer (fx) feature in the layers panel.

11.Add a border to the background layer.

12.Save project in your Multimedia folder as a .psd and then save for web & devices as a .jpg and drop in the proper folder on my teacher web site.
