Burton MA PhD Friday 17 th May 2013 Dear Parents and Y13 students, With just a week to go before we say goodbye to our Y13 students, we wanted to write to you highlighting a few key dates and reminders. Y13 Lessons We would like to remind you all that Y13 lessons are still taking place and all students should have full attendance over the next week unless they are taking an exam. If they have an exam in the morning, they are entitled to the previous afternoon as study leave and if they have an exam in the afternoon they are entitled to the morning as study leave. Y13 Leaving Day This takes place next Friday (24 th May). There are no lessons on that day but we have a programme of events to celebrate the end of the students’ school career. We will be starting at 10.45am as some students are taking a Maths exam in the morning. If students are not involved in the Maths exam, they should not be in school before 10.30am. Y13 students will be free to leave by 1.30pm after a pizza lunch. Students should arrive in the morning in normal dress code but will be able to change later in the day for an ‘It’s a knockout’ competition. From what we have heard so far, we’re looking forward to seeing some interesting costumes and themes from the various forms! Book Return Day Y13 Book Return Day will take place on Friday 21 st June and is compulsory for students. Students should arrive in school at 9.30am on this day. With just a week to go before we say goodbye to our Y13 students, we wanted to write to you highlighting a few key dates and reminders.
Y13 Lessons
We would like to remind you all that Y13 lessons are still taking place and all students should have full attendance over the next week unless they are taking an exam. Book Return Day
Y13 Book Return Day will take place on Friday 21st June and is compulsory for students. Students should arrive in school at 9.30am on this day. Please make sure all borrowed books, exam papers and equipment are returned to the relevant departments. Each department will be required to sign a form to confirm students have nothing outstanding. If students wish to donate revision guides or textbooks they have purchased to students from future year groups, they should pass them to Mrs Wilkes.
Leavers Boat Party
On the evening of 21st June, many of the leavers will be joining us for a boat party on the Thames. Please be aware that having completed the Book Return Day form is a requirement of being allowed to board the boat (whether a ticket has been purchased or not), along with full attendance at lessons in the next week.

Results Day
We are sure we don’t need to remind our students that their results will come out on Thursday 15 th August. Results will be available from 9am. Mrs Wilkes will be available on the Thursday to help with any queries or to help any students wanting to use the clearing process. We strongly advise that you do not plan to take holiday over these dates especially because applying through clearing requires swift action. If a student is going to be away, they should speak to Mrs Wilkes about this immediately.
Presentation Evening
This will take place on Thursday 19th December 2013. All ex-students will receive an invitation to the event and we will have a speaker followed by the presentation of A Level certificates and prizes. All ex-students are, of course, invited to bring guests. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
May we take this opportunity to thank you for all your support over the last seven years and wish your sons and daughters all the best as they embark upon the next stage of their lives.
