Day 3 Sept. 5 Mount of Olives, Site of the Ascension,Garden of Gethsemane, Davidson’s Center - SouthernSteps, Western WallStand on the Mount of Olives for a remarkable view ofJerusalem (the Golden City) and consider that this is the finalplace Jesus stood before ascending into heaven forty days afterHis resurrection (Acts 1). Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus went to pray after the Last Supper and wasarrested (Matt. 26). Explore the Davidson Center and theSouthern Wall Excavations, including the Teaching Steps andthe Western Wall.

Day 4 Sept. 6 Masada, Dead Sea Enjoy a visit to intriguing Masada, Herod’s spectacularmountaintop fortress that later became the tragic finalstronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Ridethe cable car to the top to explore the fortress and look downupon the remains of the Roman camps and siege rampbelow. On the way back to Jerusalem, stop at the shores ofthe Dead Sea—the lowest spot on earth—for an opportunityto take a quick dip in the mineral laden waters. After dinner,we plan to meet for the dedication of the Friends of ZionHeritage Center.

Day 5 Sept. 7 Upper Room, Israel Museum (JerusalemModel & Shrine of the Book), Yad VashemMeditate on the events of the Last Supper as you visit thetraditional location of the Upper Room (Mark 14). Learn aboutthe Jerusalem of Jesus’ day with a look at the First CenturyModel of the City of Jerusalem, now housed at the IsraelMuseum. The museum itself contains 10,000 years ofarcheological artifacts, as well as the Shrine of the Bookexhibit that displays the Dead Sea Scroll containing the bookof Isaiah. Visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, withits poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost duringthe Holocaust. After dinner, we plan to meet with Dr. Evans atthe Friends of Zion Heritage Center.

Day 6 Sept. 8 Caiaphas’ House, Old City Tour, Pool ofBethesda, Gordon's Calvary, Garden TombBeneath the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, you can walkthrough some of the ancient rooms of the house belonging toCaiaphas the High Priest. Visit Herod’s AntoniaFortress, where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate(Luke 23). Finally, sense the agony of Christ’s crucifixion atGordon’s Calvary (Luke 23), and rejoice in the reality of Hisresurrection at the Garden Tomb.

Day 7 Sept. 9 Jordan Valley, Beit Shean, Fish Lunch,Boat Ride, Jordan River Travel through the Jordan River Valley, a route often taken byJesus and other Galileans as they traveled to and fromJerusalem. Continue to Beit Shean, a city continuouslyinhabited for over 5,000 years. Here Saul and his sons'bodies were hung from the walls of the city (1 Sam. 31). Theuncovered ruins date back to the Greek / Roman city that waspart of the Decapolis of Jesus' day. See colonnaded streetswith marble sidewalks, Roman public baths, and a theater.After a fish lunch, enjoy a beautiful boat ride across the Seaof Galilee before stopping at the Jordan River for a time ofspiritual blessing. Check in to your hotel in Tiberias.

Day 8 Sept. 10 Golan Heights, Peace Overlook,Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Chorazim,BethsaidaTravel through the Golan Heights and understand theirstrategic importance to the security of Israel. Take in thepanoramic view from the Peace Overlook of the Sea ofGalilee. Enter the 2,000-year-old remains of Capernaum(Luke 4) and stand on the ruins of the synagogue site whereJesus taught. Overlooking the Sea of Galilee, visit thepeaceful Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached theSermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7). Stop at Tabgha, where thefeeding of the 5,000 is remembered at the Church of theLoaves and Fish (Luke 9). Walk the streets of Chorazim,listed as a "city of woe" by Jesus (Matt.11). See neighboringBethsaida, where Jesus chose five of His disciples (John 1).

Day 9 Sept. 11 Nazareth Precipice, Megiddo, CaesareaMaritimaView the city of Nazareth from the vantage point of the Mountof Precipice, where an angry mob attempted to throw Jesusoff a cliff (Luke 4). Travel the ancient caravan route to TelMegiddo, where 20 different cities lie superimposed uponeach other. Wander through the Roman aqueduct andtheater at Caesarea, a center of early Christianity. This iswhere Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the newcovenant (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before beingtaken to Rome for trial (Acts 23). As your time in the HolyLand comes to a close, prepare for your return journey to theUSA.
