What is UWW? With DOROT’s University Without Walls (UWW) and ToYour Health (TYH) courses, lifelong learning and peersupport are just a phone call away. Our teleconferenceclasses enable seniors to explore art and culture,discuss current events, share memories, practice newskills, and enhance their health and that of their lovedones from the comfort of their homes. DOROT engagesprofessional facilitators from renowned institutions whobring expert knowledge to small groups, giving eachparticipant an opportunity to discover and contribute toan endless treasure of knowledge. DOROT created UWW24 years ago in 1989. The program continues to bringlaughter, friendship, learning and support to individualsin their own homes.

What kind of classes does UWW offer?We offer telephone classes on art, literature, music, Judaic studies, health issues, history, and much more.

How long are the classes and is there a fee? Classes are 50 minutes long. One-time sessions are free of charge. All other courses are $15 each. There is no registration fee.

How many classes may I register for?In order to afford all participants an opportunity to register, there may be a limit to the number of coursesyou can take each semester. Classes are small so everyone can participate in the discussions.

For more than three decades, DOROT has been an innovative leader in thefield of aging services and volunteerism. DOROT alleviates social isolationamong the elderly and provides services to help them live independentlyas valued members of the community. We serve the Jewish and widercommunity, bringing the generations together in a mutually beneficialpartnership of elders, volunteers and professionals.
