Day 1 FRIDAY, NOV 10, 2017 I ARRIVAL IN HANOI

Upon arrival at the airport in Hanoi, you will be met for transportation to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Stay two nights in Hanoi.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then depart with your English speaking guide on a tour of the city. Highlights include Ba Dinh Square, One Pillar Pagoda, Fine Arts Museum, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the bustling Old Quarter. During your tour, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch. This evening, take a cyclor/pedicab ride to the Indochine Restau-rant for a thorough introduction to Vietnamese cuisine.

This morning you will meet your guide and then drive to Halong Bay where you will board a traditional wooden junk for your overnight cruise. A delectable buffet lunch is served shortly upon boarding and you find yourself getting acquainted with the facilities of the boat. The boat starts to cruise into the Bay and within the first hour you can enjoy this World Heritage Site. During your cruise, enjoy different excursions off of the boat including floating village visits, kayaking, cave walks, and more.

Rise early for a Tai Chi class, and continue cruising, before return-ing back to the wharf where you will meet your guide & driver for transportation back to Hanoi and to the airport for your flight to the city of Hue in Central Vietnam. On your arrival, meet and drive to the hotel for check-in. Later, head to a nice local restaurant for your introduction to the famed Central Vietnamese culinary delights.

In the morning, meet your local host, the owner of the Y Thao Garden House, and head to the central market for insight into how to choose the best local ingredients and for a glimpse of the daily routine before your cooking lesson. Lunch will be enjoyed, followed by a tour of the city. In the afternoon, travel by boat on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, and then visit the Imperial Citadel, a vast complex built in the 19th century. Take some time to explore the site, and then enjoy a royal banquet dinner at a riverside hotel.

Visit the Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc in Hue and then depart Hue passed rural villages, the Lang Co fishing village and lagoon, and over the Hai Van Pass, before arriving in Danang. En route, enjoy a fresh lunch at the Lang Co fishing village. In Danang, stop at Non Nuoc Beach, pass by the Marble Mountains, and then continue on to the town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, take a walk to the river and enjoy dinner at a delectable restaurant housed in a renovated colonial property.

Enjoy a walking tour of the old town. Hoi An is a picturesque riverside town known as Faifo to early western traders. The walking tour includes a visit to the Japanese Covered Bridge, an ancient merchant home, the Phuc Kien local assembly hall, and more. The local speciali-ty, Cao Lau Noodles, is for lunch, and in the afternoon we head to our cooking class followed by dinner.

Fly to Ho Chi Minh City, and then head to the hotel for check-in. We'll enjoy Pho Noodle Soup for lunch followed by a city tour. This evening, dinner will be at the popular Vietnam House Restaurant.

Today, we depart the city for the lush Mekong Delta region where we visit rural villages, take boat rides on meandering canals, see the traditional countryside lifestyle and dine on local cuisine. In the evening, we'll return back to the city for dinner at the Indochine Restaurant.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and the morning at your leisure. Checkout at 12 noon. At the appointed time, you will be met at the hotel for your transportation to the airport for your departure flight.
