• The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung requested all the companies in the cement industry to install Waste Heat Recovery Systems (WHR) due to growing environmental concerns.

• Only four of the companies namely Holcim, Chinfon, Ha Tien and Cong Thanh have put in place the upgrade required

• The government excluded five cement projects from the Zoning Plan 2011-2020 along with rejecting nine clinker development proposal due to dropping domestic consumption of cement supplies.
