The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Association will be held in the CLUBHOUSE of the CASTERTON GOLF CLUB

MONDAY OCTOBER 7th 2019 COMMENCING AT 9.300AM

BUSINESS

To confirm the minutes of the Annual Meeting held on the 3rd of October 2018.

• To consider and if thought fit, to adopt the Annual Report, Balance

Sheet and Statements of Account for the year ended 30th June 2019.

• District Delegates present, to vote on the purposed changes to the format of the State Championship.

• To elect officers for the Association and Zone Councillors. • To receive and consider the Statement submitted by the Association in

accordance with part 7 of the Reform Act 2012.

• To transact any business submitted in accordance with the constitution of the Association.

ANNUAL REPORT

The Council has pleasure in submitting the Annual Report of the Association together with audited Balance Sheet and Revenue Account for the year ended 30th June 2019.

3 PRESIDENT’S REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 30-6-2019 What a good year of golf we have had? Good weather and excellent course preparation by the all host clubs. I would sincerely like to thank all host clubs for their efforts in providing very well run tournaments, their hospitality and great catering. I believe the number of competitors at each event has held up well this year despite most clubs and districts struggling to maintain their membership numbers. Thanks to our committee members for their support and co-operation during the year. Thanks to the Commonwealth Golf Club for the use of their facilities for our meetings and lunches. Special thanks to our Captain Darly for his organization and communication with Host clubs to ensure the smooth running of events. Thanks to Parmaker sponsorship for our fixture booklets and use of their web site which has helped with our communication to our members. We must also thank Hacker Magazine for their willingness to print Veteran Golf news in their magazine even though we taking little use of their offer. There will be a number of changes in the VVGA Council this year requiring the election of new councillors, I hope your Zone councillor has made these position known to you and you will consider taking up an appointment to work on the VVGA Council Congratulation to former Veteran, Life Member and former Secretary of the VVGA Malcolm McPherson on being awarded an AOM honour for his service to Veterans Golf. On a less complimentary note is that we have a proposal before Council to change the format of the State Championships by adding B and C grade championship awards. Council was seeking opinion of districts through their Zone councillors who have presented little opinion on the matter. This will be voted on by the district delegates who attend the Annual Meeting or by districts who did not summit a proxy vote on the mater. Allan Henderson VVGA State President.

CAPTAINS REPORT

It is with great pleasure I present my Captains report for 2018/2019. The following events have been played since my last report. The Sand scrape Championships at Talbot. The Teams Championship event at Jubilee. The State Championship at Belvoir Park. The 4BBB Championship at Neangar Park The Country Championship at Midlands.

All were very successful and well run by the Host Clubs and Districts involved.

A special thanks to all District Executives, Club Members and volunteers for the effort they put in to make all these Events run so smoothly and such a pleasure for all the competitors to play in.

Congratulations to all the winners and a special thanks to everyone who made the effort to compete in all the events.

Thanks to Parmaker for their continued support and sponsorship with the production of our program of Events and allowing us to use their Web pages for all our VVGA communications and information to our members

The VVGA strongly recommend their products to all our members. Thank the Ladies who attended to support their husbands and

partners, it adds a great social touch to all our events. I would like to thank all Councill0rs and District Executives for

their assistance and friendship during my years on the Council.. I am not standing for re-election at the Annual Meeting at

Casterton. I wish all the incoming Executives the very best for the future. L have enjoyed my time representing all members of Veteran Golf

during my years on the Council, and thank you all for your support and friendship. I look ward to enjoying your company at Veterans Golf for many years to come playing golf.
