Materials / ToolsMy first introduction to Bristlebots (https://adafru.it/nNd)... was way back in 2007 - it's amazing to see the variety ofcreations grown from the roots of that project.

Here is my variation on a theme.

The materials / tools list is pretty short...

Soldering Iron (https://adafru.it/dyY) / Solder (https://adafru.it/nNe)Flush Wire Cutters (https://adafru.it/dxQ)Needlenose Pliers (https://adafru.it/nNf)22AWG Solid-core Wire (https://adafru.it/nNA)Pager Motor (https://adafru.it/nNB)CR2032 Battery (https://adafru.it/nNC)Googly Eyes (https://adafru.it/nND)Zip Ties (https://adafru.it/nNE)Hot-glue / Super Glue

From start to finish, it shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour to 3D print your parts and assemble a Vibro-bug.

Small and simple projects... can be great fun!

3D PrintingSo... I ran into a cute Bristlebot (https://adafru.it/nNF)model on Thingiverse, and made a few changes - to reduce thebill of material and simplify assembly.

Feel free to edit / re-mix my re-mix (https://adafru.it/nOa) on Tinkercad...

MotorGrab some solid-core 22AWG wire... in contrast or compliment to your bug body.

Cut two 35mm lengths.

Remove ~5mm of insulation on the top with wire strippers or gently roll the wire with a razor-knife.

Remove ~15mm of insulation on the bottom with wire strippers or the same roll-and-cut technique shown above.

Which will leave ~15mm of insulation in the middle-ish of the wire.

Slap some flux on the pager motor contacts and the wire.

Match the angle of the motor contacts by bending the ends of the wire a bit. Be gentle, too much stress on the motorcan break the contacts.

Let's make the wire to motor connector bits a little more durable by adding a 6mm length of 1/4 inch shrink-tube.

Apply heat evenly... and voila!

Carefully bend both wires 90 degrees to the motor with a pair of needlenose pliers.

Zip-it GoodYour motor assembly should fit snug in the bug body...

Passing the two wires through the holes in the middle - just make sure at this point that the end of the motor spinsfreely.

Zip-ties come in a plethora of colors these days... I think I'll stick with orange.

Zip-it... zip-it good... on both sides.

Bend your wires up and over the battery compartment.

Continuing into the indentations / wire guides on top.

Make sure that your wire makes solid contact with the CR2032 battery.

Googly EyesIt's time to add a dash of personality... you will need a dab of hot-glue or super glue for this step.

I like to spread-out a bag of assorted googly eyes on the table - and let awesome happen.

"The eyes are the window of the soul."

One eye.

I wonder what a Vibro-bug would look like with eyes all over?
