recently Tygerberg Animal Hospital started a staff volunteering commitee where staff from TAH donate their time and expertise to Fisantekraal Animal welfare.
Apart from the sterrithons andThursdaysterilizations we do for FAW, staff areencouraged to spend a few hours on aSaturday helping the FAW volunteers bywashingdogs,sellrepackeddog/catfood,manthesecondhandstoreorhelpwhereeverneeded.
One of our staff members came backsaying itwas a huge eye opener for her,“Some of us assume that the pets inFisantekraalareneglected, malnourished, andaggressivebutforthemostpartthisassumption is incorrect. As soon as youdrive up to the FAW container you arewelcomed by packs of happy waggingtailsandsmilingowners.”
It’s a different feeling of contentmentwhen you help at Fisantekraal, workingat TAH you constantly feel like you havemadeadifferencebutwiththeFAWteamyougettophysicallyseethechangerightthereatthehomefront.
It iswonderfultobeapartofsomethingthatmay seem so small to some peoplebutintruthmakessuchapositiveimpacttoanunderprivilegedcommunity.
For those of you who would also liketo donate some of your time to helpmake a difference, please contact theFAW team on 084 519 0380 (Winette)[email protected] or go to their website http://www.faw.za.org/
We would like to celebrate some ofthe highlights of days gone past andshare this momentous mile stonewith our most loyal customers. Pleasesend us a short recount of what youremember about theTygerbergAnimalHospital since its inception in 1965. [email protected].
