the Pledge of Allegiance.

Many Americans are brave, courageous and patriotic and

they serve in our military.

emergencies at home and around the world. • Their slogan is “First to Fight.”

Navy• Known for operations at sea.• Sailors serve on submarines, aircraft

carriers, cruisers, destroyers, etc.• Their divers go deep underwater to

repair ships.

We have a special holiday that honor the men and women who are brave, courageous,

and patriotic who fought in the branches of the military.

Do you know the name of this holiday?

Veterans Day!!!

Who is a Veteran?• Veterans are people who

served in the military (Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, Coast Guard) in times of war or peace.

• Do you know a veteran?–Maybe it is your father, mother, sister, brother, uncle, grandfather, etc.

Why do we celebrate Veteran’s Day?• Veterans put their lives on

the line, if need be, to guarantee the freedoms we enjoy today. They did not run from battle, yield to fear, or abandon their cause.

• Because of their service to our country, we owe them our full support and thanks.
